well, you can't blame them for trying. Kind of like us trying to get Battier.

TP.  That gave me a laugh.

It would be quite something if they could swing a trade for Camby, then Rip gets bought out and joins the Knicks bc he misses Billups so much.

Billups, Rip, Melo, Amare, Camby. 

Yeah, that'd be a dangerous lineup.

They could be an interesting spot for buyouts. Big market, mainstream media will want to consider them a contender and they'll be guaranteed some pretty big minutes. If I'm looking for a good paycheck next year I think the Knicks might be the best place to go.


That being said, no collection of buyouts are putting the over the top

Talent ... it could come in a lot of different forms but the best area to concentrate on would be adding a top interior defender / rebounder.

Need major work on their supporting cast. Particularly their bench. No backup wing worth regular minutes. No backup big man worth regular minutes. Their backup PG is a limited ball-handler / passer and really a two playing the one. So they have little to no quality coming off their bench right now.

If they want to get rid of future cap space, they could do something like Azubike and Brewer for Marvin Williams (which works on trade machine).  Provide them a much better 6th man with a lot of versatility.

What they really need is a center, I just don't see how they can get one that would really help them.
