Alright, so finally with all the MeloDrama over we can catch up on some other trade rumors around the league. Well its obvious the Celtics need a 3 as we all know the less minutes Paul Pierce has to play during the regular season the better. As such, I have come up with an option I feel is reasonable and I haven't seen brought up at all. I will list why I feel we have a chance to land this player.
Terrence Williams
I am honestly surprised no one has mentioned him at all. I can't say that I watch many Nets games, except when they play the Celtics so I am not aware if his defense is average or better. All I know is this kid has potential and is extremely athletic. At 6'6" he has some size, but what he lacks in size I think he makes up for in his athletic ability. He is a decent 3point shooter at 33% for his career.
Why we may have a shot at him:
Williams has only played in only 6 games since the Nets traded him to the Rockets for a future first round pick and has only averaged 3 minutes a game. He is stuck behind a plethora of guards and small forwards which the Rockets have. He is openly frustrated with his lack of playing time and his contract works directly for Marquis. I figure with Marquis being able to give them a bit of cap space and a first round pick they could bite. Unfortunately, the Rockets don't seem pressed to trade to save some cap space and we don't have much else to offer them.
