I'm saying that Celtics have a 30% chance we land Howard.

 Lakers 50% chance.

It was the house that Dwight bulit, and the place where J rich, Turk, Nelson will play.

Just like Carmelo, Dwight will have to leave town to win Rings.

Lakers really do seem older and less likely to be a title contender for very long.

We have a young Star in Rodo that's gets better every year.

And three Legends that are aging like fine wines.

Imagine all the People just for a moment.

Perk would be out of the picture, but just for one year to have.
 Dwight  Shaq Semih
 Kevin   Baby
 Pierce  Luke Quis
 Allen   Von
 Rondo   Nate

We don't even need anyone else, it would be an all time team in the NBA for as long as Shaq can give us 20 minutes.

That team would have so much fun together and KG is EXACTLY what Howard needs. Toughness, fire, attitude, that Dwight really needs.

So come on Celts fans Hope pray and wish That the new Superman wants to come in win titles with the old Crew before they wither away. Then you and Rondo can have the Team in three years, sound good Dwight?

Win three titles with the Legends then try it out yourself with by then an all time great Point guard in Rajon.

And think about Rondo and Dwight together. Not even Fair!!

in closing I will give 100 dollars to the cause. Someone do the math if half of Celtics Blog gave 100$ how much is that.

Just a bonus for Dwight. I'm sure Wyc can afford a little Tax.

Celtics have a zero % chance of landing Dwight Howard in free agency. I'm just gonna say it, because buying in on that pipe dream is like thinking about your odds of winning the mega millions ticket...then devoting the rest of your day to figuring out how you'll spend the money.

Hmmm ... I am thinking ... something along these lines:

Magic - 50%
Celtics - 20%
Rest of league - 30% but no other individual team is above 5%

Those odds should change over time with Orlando's steadily declining. The Celtics may rise or decrease depending on the moves other potential suitors make.

Currently, Boston is the frontrunner to steal Dwight Howard away from Orlando.

Now I can tell you for a fact that you are 100% wrong that we dont have a 1% chance of landing him.

 That is mathematically impossible.

0% Chance.

Why come to Boston with a closed window by 2013 when you can go to New York and join 2 superstars in their prime and be contenders for 5+ years?

How is Boston the frontrunner, did you hear what just happened in New York?

Because the Knicks will have no cap space + not enough trade assets to engineer a sign and trade.

They are not a viable option at this point in time.

I doubt Dwight Howard will go to NY..NY already has 2 kings as of tonight, and Dwight Howard will want to be a king. He's gonna go to LA and with an older, more mellow..er..well just older Kobe..he can probably delude himself into thinking that LA will be his town then.

Andrew Bynum + all LA's draft picks for Howard is better than most deals that will be out there. What are the Celtics offering besides cap space?

Also, we're gonna have that kind of cap space? Really?

Because you want to play with Legends that can really teach you the Game and make you into a REAL MAN. And actually know your going to win titles.

Yea, LA seems like a nice attraction for him also.

With Dwight coming to Boston it would be because we had blown the team up. KG is pointing to retiring after next season, Piece states hes retiring as soon as KG hangs them up (heard him say it in an interview). Not sure with Ray, he already broke the 3 point record so I dont see what more he could want to accomplish if we werent contending anymore.

Dwight + Rondo and a bunch of roleplayers? That team wouldnt make it out of the second round. LA/NY/ORL would be a much better option for him.

  • Let's Go Celtics!
IF the Knicks have cap (and that's a big "if" given that the new CBA will likely have a lower cap), I see them committing their money to D.Will or CP3 before Dwight. Actually, my money's on CP3. As I said in the Melo/NY thread, Melo Amar'e and CP3 supposedly made a handshake agreement to play together in NY. So we'll see if that holds true.

LA has the majority of their cap invested in Kobe/Pau who both have 3 yr extensions kicking in next season. Their best chance is a sign and trade involving Bynum - whose knees can give out well before then.

I don't think we're dead in the water just yet, but a decent trade to bring in another young piece wouldn't hurt our chances. I hope that we seriously look into OJ Mayo this offseason, he's not a superstar but he could compliment a Rondo/D12 tandem nicely.

2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

It's very difficult to know what type of trade asset Andrew Bynum will be in 18 months time.

Too many unknowns regarding his health and productivity + consequent contract status.

Andrew Bynum could be a terrific asset that makes LA far and away the best offer. Or he could a fairly lousy asset due to questionable health and high wage demands. It's too tough to say at this point in time.
