if the Melo to NY trade is completed, which is why Denver is so insistent on having Mozgoz included in any trade.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

interesting. Why don't the nuggets just keep Mozgov and Galinari? They are better than probably most guys they could pick up in the next draft.

Well if they decide to keep Chandler they'll have their SF going forward.

They don't have any Euros on their roster now.

Maybe their GM does not like the European game?  Nene is Brazilian. I am just throwing it out there, but it's nothing more than a wild guess.

Could the Nets "win" the Melo trade without even being involved in it?

Sure looks like it.

The Nets are playing a pretty interesting game here.

I wonder what if any is the actual truth to all this.

No kidding.  Is this a rumor leaked by NJN to make NYK think twice about making a high offer for Melo, that talented players will end up in their cross town rival for mere picks?

I will say this: Despite the Prokhorov group seemingly failing twice to get the guy they wanted..they keep coming out looking smarter than everyone except Pat Riley..unless you look at Outlaw and Morrow's contracts..and honestly if Outlaw returns to a 6th man role and gets back to where he was in Portland..they'll look smart again.

Freakin Russians man. Cutthroats, I tell ya!

EDIT: but if this is true...Denver will get petty in the press. Bank on it.

LOL, yea, Prokhorov didn't become obscenely wealthy without knowing how to run negotiations

We need Prokhorov in this summer's CB Draft.  Dude knows how to work a trade.  "Oh, so I don't have what you want?  Let me see if your trade can benefit me in some way, and I'll squeeze my way into it."

Is it weird that I'm more excited for the legend that I hope will grow around Prokhorov than I am to see what actually happens to Melo?

From what I've read the Nuggets don't really like Gallinari's game, but the Nets won't give up 2 firsts for just Gallinari, and they aren't going to give up Chandler, the Nets don't want Felton or anyone else left on the roster, and Randolph is going to the Wolves.

The problem for NJ here is, Denver has no leverage to demand Mozgov.  They can threaten to keep Carmelo, but I don't think anybody buys that.

Still, I hope NY caves, both because it weakens them, and because I'd like to see NJ get something for their efforts.
