What about this 3 way deal?

Celtics get:
Anthony Randolph  - $2mil/2yr
Rasual Butler     - $2.4mil/1yr

Clippers get:
Eddy Curry - $11.3mil/1yr
Nate Robinson - $4.2mil/2yr

New York Knicks get:
Chris Kaman - $11.8mil/2yr
Luke Harangody - $473.6K/2yr

Boston
Randolph provides much versatility and a potential building block for the future with Rondo. Surrounded by the vets and learning from them, specifically KG, this kid could become something special. Right now he is stuck in D'Antoni's dog house. The 21yr old is capable of contributing right now and could be used in various ways.

For Boston we get much needed wing help in Butler, who is barely getting into the rotation out in LA with the Clippers, as they go with more of a youth movement preferring to play Aminu and Ryan Gomes over the 31yr old Butler.Butler is a player with beautiful size, can defend, knock down the three, and can put the ball on the floor with 2-3 dribbles and get to the basket or pull up.

Clippers
The Clippers get rid of Kaman's big deal and take on Eddy Currys big self and deal because it is clear that since Kaman has been out for all but 10 games, they have handed over the reigns to DeAndre Jordan. And Kaman is locked up for 2 yrs whereas Currys deal is up after just 1 year.

I will be honest, I cant figure out a really good reason as to why they would take on Nate, but I do know that, Baron DAvis will probably have his annual post-all star break injury, and Eric Gordon is still out. Guard wise that leaves them with Eric Bledsoe, Randy Foye and Willie Warren who barely plays.

New York
The Knicks bring in Chris Kaman, a legit big man, he would be taking up an extra year on his contract (curry is 1 yr/kaman is 2yr), which im guessing would bite into that Cap Space room they want to throw at Melo, but Melo is supposedly not worried about the money, he just wants to win ::). But next to Amare, I think Having KAman down there also, would make for a nice big-man combo. And for giving up an Eddy Curry to get a Chris Kaman, thats hard to turn down. a guaranteed trade of getting chris Kaman for Eddy Curry. instead of a hoping and wishing signing of Carmelo. I dont see why they couldn't do both. a Melo-Amare-Kaman frontline would be fun to watch........Offensively!

I can see the Knicks doing a Randolph for Kaman thing. But the Clippers seem to be on the losing end of that deal and by a wide margin. Do they really want Kaman out of their team that badly that they'd rather just let him expire in the form of Eddy Curry?

i would love getting both Randolph and Butler though.. *sigh*

I think it's easy to slip into the same thinking as the rest of the country outside of Clippers fans and forget just how good Kaman is...he just needs to get healthy again, and him and Griffin in the front court will be very difficult for any team to deal with.

I like the looks of R. Butler (and would love Randolph) but did they really put that mix to a Lil Bow Wow jam?

Kaman for Curry somewhat makes sense from a financial point. Curry gives them the flexibility they will need in a few years to resign Griffin and Gordon. However, at the current time, I think Kaman is a great fit for the Clippers. He is one of the game true good centers. With a starting five of Davis, Gordon, Gomes, Griffin, Kaman with Jordan, Bledsoe, Foye, and Butler makes a pretty darn good line up on paper.

I would not touch this trade.  We are not broken just nagged by injuries and this trade would help NYC significantly.

This isn't a revamping of the entire roster...we essentially swap out Nate and Luke for Anthony Randolph and Rasual Butler.

When's the last time Kaman was healthy for, let's say 3 straight months?

If Danny likes Randolph then I like the deal.....Clippers would need a first from New York and the Celtics first, I would think.....unless Kaman's health is a real question mark going forward.  Then the deal might be doable with just one pick..

sorry, i was hoping the "?" would deflect any belief that it was the real thing.

I think the Clippers would do this, because mainly to get rid of Kaman, they've pretty much made it known that DeAndre Jordan is there new Center. and Kaman is locked up for 2 years and he is hurt...meanwhile Curry is going to give you the exact same production as Kaman right now, with the added bonus of his contract expiring.

And DeAndre Jordan is making only like 800K and will expire in the summer, they could use that added money from the expiring curry deal to re-sign Jordan in the summer. and not having a Kaman/Jordan logjam at Center. You cant play them both at the same time alot, because you've got Griffin who warrants 35-40 mpg.

Yeah thats what I thought after I had already posted the trade up here, and looked at it again....that LAC would probably need some draft picks to give them more incentive to go through with a trade like this.

I agree with you Kaman is a good center, but he's pulled a
Jermaine Oneal this year, and has barely played!

And that has forced DeAndre Jordan into the lineup, and I think that Clipperland has fallen in love with the Griffith-Jordan bigman combo.

yeah, but I don't think they are looking to dump him either.  I think they want real value for him and he is a good center who doesn't have that many years left.
