I'm sure they are proud to be All Stars, and we are too. But frankly, the lost opportunity to get much needed rest, and the risk of further injury isn't worth it.

PP is headed to the hospital as we type, Rondo's injuries have him needing help with every collision. Garnett hasn't been the same snce his calf injury, and RA, has looked great and I'd like to see this last tile the end of the year.

Current team injuries will require more minutes than they would like, and the road trip after the break is exhausting.

I realize the sacrifice, but the sacrifice of an optimum shot at a Championship is much greater.

They can't skip the all-star events without missing 5 games. So its hard to give them much rest without missing a lot of games.

I agree that health overall is more important than grinding out the number one seed in the east. But that doesn't mean taking off a ton of time would help.

Don't think we could do that.  Or, the NBA wouldn't allow it short of major injury.  And PP can't miss either since he has been calling out Ray for the past two weeks  :)

I dont understand this. It happens every year at the all star break. "Shut em down" "make em sit" "risky for injuries." Its a fun game that allows the best players to represent their games and their leagues and their jobs basically. Has anyone ever gotten hurt during all star weekend? I think its completely harmless for a player to play in the All Star game getting 20 to 25 minutes of no defense all entertainment style basketball. If it had meaning and players were going 110% maybe my opinion would be different. But its a game, for fun, let these guys represent the east, they deserve it.

Exactly. If this was a playoff-like style of play, then yeah, they don't need that when it has no real benefit. But this is about fun, and I wanna see it. I'd like to see Doc use them for like 15 minutes, including together with D12 for like 5 straight minutes. The rest of the time he can get creative. And P2 better get his little injuries right because after all the talking he's done, Ray is coming for him on Saturday.

It's a nice light, fun event during a long (sometimes intense) season.

The good news I Doc is the coach.  If he is smart, he will play the 4 of them together with Howard only for limited minutes.

Then play Lebron and Wade as many minutes as possible.   Hope for quadrupedal overtime.

we need to have strong defense and hit some of the clutch shots.  thats the way the teams who beat them do it.

I'm for cutting their minutes big time for the next 20 games.

Cold turkey shut downs do a lot more harm then good.

It's better to taper our guys' minutes so they won't lose their rhythm.
