Some of the same people who want Sheed are the ones who hated Nate.

The guy is retired. Geez, you think he's been staying in basketball shape?

People complained when he's here.

By the time he "might" even get into shape, we'll already be getting injured players back.

He's old. Injury prone himself now.

I know the C's roster is depleted but the Sheed talks are just ridiculous.

If we stopped all the talks that people have requested lately, we would have nothing left to talk about.

No I don't want Rasheed to suit up again.

Based on the existence of this thread, the answer to the question appears to be "no."

Sheed would probably be better than DNP #1, DNP #2, and DNP #3 at this point, sadly enough.  Injuries suck.

The fact that you used the word "probably" when comparing Sheed to NOTHING is pretty informative.

Haha, yeah.  I'm not a huge Sheed proponent, but I understand the threads:  we need bodies right now.

He's old. Injury prone himself now.

Since when was Sheed injury prone? His back problems last year affected his play on the court but never took him out, Rasheed only missed 3 games.

I for one will keep talking about Rasheed... Him and Shaq would be better than Jermaine O'Neal and Shaq. I'll give JO props for looking good on the defensive end with blocks and all that, but on offense he looks lost. I've seen numerous times that Pierce and Rondo are yelling at him about being in the complete wrong place.

Anyone his age who has been out of basketball for almost a year and hasn't been a gym rat since retiring will be injury prone. I didn't say he will be injured if he played, I said he'll be highly susceptible to injuries.

Plus when he starts heaving up threes and missing, people will start "hating on him" like they do to Nate

If the pro of getting Sheed is just getting a body, then that's the wrong reason.

Why does everyone automatically assume Sheed is out of shape?  Has anyone here seen Sheed play basketball recently?
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Well, mgent - you are correct. No one has seen Sheed working out, but that doesn't mean that he's not.

Going by what we see? 'Toine is in the D-League, and looks to be in the best shape of his life.

Last time I heard about Sheed was around Christmas...someone here on the blog said that he was at Walmart - hauling a bunch of toys.

And I think about a month or so ago there was a thread here that he visited Detroit and took a Three-pt attempt during a practice of theirs.

I would be totally Shocked - even with my Green-Tinted glasses - if Sheed somehow ends up in Green later this year. I bet he is enjoying his family right now.

Ideally, we won't NEED FOR SHEED (you have to capitalize that..its law.)

But if you say "Pick one, Toine or Sheed", I'm picking Sheed. That's different than saying you "want" him back.
