Is that we don't have that guy off the bench that can match up with kobe and make him work.  Last year it was TA, the year before it was Posey.  Now I know both PP and Ray do a decent job against him.  But before, we were able to wear him down throughout the game and that helped PP and Ray at the end of games, both on offense and defense.

Marquis was a possibility but even before his injury, he didn't do a particularly good job on kobe.  For whatever reason, even good defenders can struggle against certain players.  And kobe looked like that guy for Marquis.  Besides, I would not be shocked if Marquis never played another game, nevermind for the Celts.

As nightmarish as last year was, at least we weren't destroyed by kobe.  To me, that would have made it worse.  And while we have a lot to worry about before getting to the lakers, none if it matters if we can't beat them.  And much of that will depend on being able to contain that guy.

No one stops Kobe but Kobe.  In my opinion, if we make it tough or not is irrelevant.  We just can never ever EVER let Kobe go off and also get his teammates involved.

As long as that doesn't happen we will be fine.  We may never see them again this year anyways.  San Antonio is more then a match for the Lakers this year.

Plus if Lakers don't get the number 2 seed it is going to be a rough playoffs for them.

I'd say 6-24 is stopping him.  And in the Big 3 era, I am thinking he is shooting under 40% against us.  And I believe that they are already in the 2 spot in the west and are only a couple of games behind us.  And I still favor them against SA.

So while it is certainly early still, I see lots of reasons to be concerned.

Every championship team needs a TA/Posey.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale
