With Jerry Sloan gone in Utah,
what do you think of him taking
over for Doc next year if Doc
decides to call it quits.

Danny once said Sloan was the
best coach in the league,

I would like to see how different
the Big Four would do with a coach
the caliber of Sloan.

I would also like to see how
Sloan would do with the talent
of the Celtics.

Any comments?

I think if Boston wins the NBA title this year, Doc sticks around to defend it.

I would be for Sloan replacing Doc, however, if he made the decision to call it quits.  Sloan is one of the best coaches the game has ever seen, and would definitely be a plus, but I seem to think Lawrence Frank is the most likely next coach, due to his already being on the staff, having some success in his NJ days as a head coach & already having an understanding of the team's current system & how to utilize the players.

I don't think Sloan will get back into coaching right away, he might stay retired but I think he'll at least wait a year.

He's 68 years old so he may stay retired.

I think Doc sticks around until at least Ray and KG go.  His kids are all in college now.  There's no point in "being home" for them.

As soon as I saw the news I thought "let Jerry take a year off, then come coach the Celtics in the 2012-2013 season"   I'm all for it :)

I could see potentially see the big 4 butting heads with Sloan, more specifically Pierce.  Im not by any means calling Pierce or any of our big 4 uncoachable or selfish.  It's just with the vets we have on this team, and all the success theyve had, making it to the finals twice and winning a ring, I cant see them responding very well to a change in the way they play the game right now unless it really warrants a change.

and Jerry Sloan, I would think, would want to come in and run his type of basketball, which he would deserve.  I just think letting Lawrence Frank take over would be the best and smoothest transition into the post Doc era, then into the post Pierce era we could really shake things up.

.....and to whom it may concern, I by no stretch of the imagination think Deron Williams deserves the same kind of excuse and accommodation that I'm giving Pierce and Co.
