I hope they did. Its a great gift for the Fans to witness the record breaking on National TV. But I doubt it, His 25points is the  prove. Ray was very active against the Bobcats.

I don't know if he held back or not, but I'm 100% certain if he has a 3 point look late in the game for the tie, he'd have taken it. As a matter of fact, I believe that's the Celts want to go to Allen for a chance at the tie, but the Bobcats were all over him.

He probably did hold back but he didn't hurt the team by doing so. He played an awesome game last night but just didn't shoot from 3 except when he was completely open.   With the next two games at home he will break the record at home in front of the Celtics faithful.  Just like Perk wanted to come back at home,  Ray wants to break this record in the Garden in front of his home crowd.  I see nothing wrong with that.

I agree that when the shots were there he took them and if he was open for a 3 to tie or win the game he would have taken it with the intent of making it - record or no no record.   And I don't blame him for wanting to be at home when he breaks the record.

Also, I don't think he'd put a record in front of winning.

This.
