I think 8M per year is the upperbound.   8)

First off, I'll leave it to Danny. It's why he makes the big bucks.  Second, I think Perk is already very valuable as a rare legit center with a work ethic and attitude.  Third, I think he will continue to improve over the next few years.

In this wonky market for players I'd guess Perk's services could go for $10-12 million but that's just a guess.

And Perk, if you're reading this, we love ya in green!

I hope Perk gets paid a lot, but also hope he doesn't get too greedy, and leaves some room for this team to fill out the roster in 2012.

I think he's worth 9-10 mil a year. He's only 26.  He's a center who doesn't rely on his athleticism, will average around 10 pts, 9 boards, a couple blocks and shoot 55-60% from the field.  He also is a great interior defender.  He's a very good center in this league, not elite, but good.  I'd offer him 4 years-40 mil, he should be rather easy to trade at any point during that contract.  He's entering his prime right now.
do it

definitely worth more than the MLE. i would say 7-8m per year is fair.

If the CBA doesn't change that much, 6 years, 60 million seems like the going rate for someone of Perk's skill set (pretty much the same contract Biedrins, Chandler, Dalembert, etc. signed).
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Seems like big numbers, but I'd take Perk over all those guys in a heartbeat.  Chandler looks good like 1 out of every 3 years.

I'd say 5 years 35 mill. I mean maybe 40 mill but remember we got Rondo on a 5 year 55 million deal, and I don't think Perk should be within 15 mill of a player like that just MHO.

Well that's what they got, but other than Chandler, the other two are considered BAD contracts.

As far as what I would pay him to stay on this team, I agree (in AAV, meaning he would start closer to 6-7 million, and get raises).  And I am not even positive I would give him that on this team.

But unfortunately, on the open market, I think $8 million per year may be closer to the low end.  Unless the CBA is dramatically different, I expect him to be getting some very large offers this summer from a team that is more desperate for him than the C's are.

What's he worth?  $7-8 million year.

What he'll end up getting? Prob $9-10 million/year.

Look with all due respect to Perk. He plays on one side of the ball.  When the Celtics are on offense its like 4 on 5. He is a terrible offensive player. Even under the hoop he is constantly trying to dribble the basketball.

Sure his defense and rebounding are good but watching how fluid the other starters play with a 38 year old Shaq show you how truely limited Perks offense is.

I love Perk and I respect his hard working attitude and loyalty but Perk will be traded. This team and Perkins are going in opposite directions.

if that is what they got that is what Perk is going to get.  It is the reality of the NBA.  Now that is if they don't change the CBA much.
