You may be right, BballTim, the Tree Rollins/Danny Ainge biting was reported both ways, and I probably misremember...but it sort of proves my point about no one side being so innocent.  Baiting, or reacting...which is worse?

eja...as far as McHale being afraid of retribution and KG not expecting any under todays rules...We don't know the story behind KG's bleeding from the head (two separate occasions) last week.  Accidental bump, retribution for something?  I don't believe the refs  called a foul on either...no one knows...no one can say...but it could be...

True. He didn't cry about the head or anything. Although I'm not sure other guys would wear the aircraft carrier bandage he has for a week.

KG is a bully, plain and simple. He is our bully though, so I guess I am cool with it. I think there are times he looks like a fool on the court, and he does seem to have a tendency to go after smaller players. As for the Ainge/Tree Rollins thing, It was actually Tree that bit Danny's finger, yet Danny always gets blamed for the act.

You have a problem with the "size" of his band-aid now? This is just blind hatred man.

KG probably uses it as another way to distract players on the court. Wear a big band aid. Apparently it is enough to distract some fans. Whatever works I guess. Lakers media was whining about this from some of the headline I read. I guess it distracted them from the loss. Grasping at straws.  ;D

Sometimes I don't get how KG has a reputation of intensity.  He's a 7 footer who's big go to move his whole career was a jumper. It's a little like saying Toine was intense.

So you can only be intense if you are down low and dunking. That is absurd!
No. I think of Reggie Miller as intense. I think of John Stockton as intense. I mean KG likes what he does.  He plays hard. Plays good defense.  I just think his intensity is tremendously overrated.  What's the difference between his intensity and say Tyler Hansbrough's? Tyler shoots it. Goes to the whole against bigger guys. Tries defense. Does a lot of yelling?  I just think KG's intensity is overrated and always has been

Come on man, are you really comparing KG's intensity to Tyler Hansbrough?

Doc, Pierce, Perk, ect. have all said numerous times that Garnett is one of the most intense players they've ever been around. Question his lack of control fine, but I don't see how anyone can doubt his passion for the game.

Wow Fafnir.  I wouldn't have the guts to say such a thing. Toine would of course kill KG in such a contest.

KG is a bully, plain and simple.

KG isn't an 8 year old on the playground.  I'm not even sure what the heck it's supposed to mean to call a grown man engaging in athletic competition against other grown men "a bully"?  Did he hold Charlie V upside down until his lunch money fell out?  Did he shove Noah into the girl's bathroom and hold the door closed?  Did he pull down DHoward's pants in the lunchroom?

With the amount of negative comments made against KG on here (amazing), sometimes I think I've accidentally wondered onto a Lakers message board.  :(

I hate everything associated with the Lakers...but I have to give it to their fans...atleast the ones on SCR...Lakers have their share of dirty/questionable players on their roster..but they never throw them under the bus...or bash them like we bash KG here...and if an outsider goes on that blog and calls a Laker player dirty..they attack you like a pack of mad dogs. I appreciate that about them.

I have a feeling that KG wouldn't have received all this flak if he had been a Celtic all his career..like the Captain. I mean, PP is not, to put in JVG's words, "the model of decorum" either...but I don't see anyone bashing him.

Of course he would:

Quote
Ainge purposely didn't strike up a relationship with Walker as he mulled the next move. He had a lot to think about. Walker's weight was a central issue. Toine had battled leg injuries the previous season and had ballooned to 267 pounds, 22 over his playing weight. He was a fried-chicken fanatic who could down 20 drumsticks doused in hot sauce in one sitting at Harold's Chicken Shack in Chicago. Plus, Beantown fans had started to boo Toine for his wild shot selection, and had grown tired of the upper-body shimmy dance dubbed The Wiggle, especially when he'd break it out with the team down by 10. "People thought Antoine had gotten too comfortable here," says a member of Boston's front office.
If you're talking about any other competition its another story, especially when it comes to rebounds and playing defense.

No no no.  The bandaid was great at first. He was bleeding all over the place and returned quickly. He got stitched quickly.

I like KG. He's probably my 4th favorite Celtic or so.  If the band aid is some sort of mind game with the refs I think that's great.

It's just that I think from a neutral point of view we need to recognize that every day in America countless little girls get cut and get stitches and in about 5-7 days they get the stitches out. So I'm kinda wondering why this intensely tough guy is on day 8 or so of this band aid that can be seen from space.

I don't do this to you guys.  Hey man. How come you don't give little girls their due man. Why you gotta hate on little girls man.

I just think it's time to take the band aid off really before the mind game backfires
