Chris Broussard reports:

Quote
In the proposed trade, New York would send Anthony Randolph and Eddy Curry to Minnesota and the Timberwolves would send Corey Brewer and a first-round pick to Denver. Denver would also receive Wilson Chandler from New York.

The deal is not expected to happen until the middle of next week at the earliest, and one source said it could drag out until the trade deadline. Denver, which has been exchanging proposals with the Knicks for the past couple weeks, is weighing other options.

Here's what the trade looks like:

Chandler, Brewer (impending UFA), and a 1st for Carmelo? You can bet Denver is "weighing other options."

Man I hope this crap ends soon... As good as Chandlers playing this year Denver won't resign him to the money he will end up getting so thats a waste.

And does Minny have a trade exception... Because they cant send Curry and Randolph to Minny for just Brewer, numbers totally don't work. If Denver is making this trade they are going to want both Randolph's young potential and Curry's expiring.

Minnesota has cap space to make the deal work.

That's one part about this that just doesn't make sense. Minnesota uses all that space to acquire Randolph, at the cost of a 1st and Brewer? They could use that cap space to much greater gain, given how desperate some teams are going to be to shave payroll. Utah, for instance.

Melo for Curry's contract, Chandler, Galo, and Randolph.

However, if Im the Knicks I just say no and wait til the offseason.

Chandler (a restricted free agent), Corey Brewer, and a mid- to late-first rounder?

Man, that's a garbage offer.  The Nuggets would definitely be better off dealing him somewhere else as a rental.

IMO the Knicks should just wait till the summer that way they don't have to give up any of their assets.

The thing is, if the Nuggets want to sign Carmelo to a max deal, they're going to have to let Chandler go, and maybe trade Randolph as well (or find some other way to shed salary).  In other words, they're really not giving up many assets, other than potentially a first rounder or two.

Appearently Mike D'Antoni loathes Al Harrington and doesn't want him back.
