Glad we don't have to face them in the playoffs. Solid looking team.
They are an excellent shooting team and shredded our defense with a less than 100% Nowitzki. I thought we played well, just couldn't stop the energetic Mavs. If they stay healthy they will go deep in the playoffs.

Dallas is a good team, and played well last night, but the Celts choked that one away.  Boston was up 6 with 2:45 left, which should have pretty much been game over.

Kudos to the Mavs. They played a very good game last night. Kidd was able to neutralize Pierce pretty well on D.  Tyson Chandler was a great pick up for them, how exactly did that pull that off? He has so much energy.  Remember the day when folks thought that Eddy Curry was the better of those two HS kids? Ha!!

Dirk has really developed an ability to go inside, that he lacked until this year. Mark Jackson was spot on with that analysis last night.

Imagine if the had Caron Butler? They could very well take the Western Conference. Even as constructed, I would not write them off.

I don't think Dallas have the C's number.

I would expect the Celtics to win a playoff series against the Mavs.

Especially without Butler in the lineup. They would have had a chance of springing an upset over the Celtics with Butler in the team but without him they have zero chance of winning a playoff series against this Boston team.

The only team that can stop the C's is...themselves.

Rondo should have pushed the ball more. Kidd can't keep up with him. Great block by Ray on Chandler. Perk makes you realize how limited Shaq and JO have been. Perk Erdin Combo will be big.

Its more like Nowitzki has our number...doesn't he average his most points aganist the C's than any other team they play?If they make a conscious effort to keep Dirk in ck they better their chances of winning most times the two teams meet.

Give Dallas credit, they played well....but the Cs are better, and take them in a 7 game series.  Not worried about them much at all...doubt we play them again this year.

One of the few teams that can match up with us across the board in terms of talent and experience.   A lot of former all stars on that team that are very good players just like ours.  They have a lot of team size.   But its rare for them to shoot that well folks.  Somenight teams can't miss and your going to take your lumps.

  • You say when......
Well, there is more to it than that.....somehow the Celts don't take them seriously right away.....Chandler open a lot in the paint for easy ones, barea scoring..?  Why was kid even open for that shot.....wasn't it 5 on 5 at that point....don't we know he is one of the best 3 shooters.......it was more lack of interest, lack of our effort,,,especially on D...and not many inside slashing plays or penetration...we actually got into a shooting contest with them, we won't win that way.....there is no reason to leave your man open for a pass or shot, especially in the 4th..there is no one on dallas worthy of a double team....

That might be why we need to play wafer and MD more, to run and cover these guys when our older stars get tired and won't D up close......fit in the youth 2nd and 3rd more..wear the OTHER team out...! And WE NEED SOMEONE to RUN with RONDO.....TA is gone, and he was the only one always ready too...so if md won't...try more wafer...he has been coming on....you say he makes mistakes, more playing will fix that...besides, who out there doesn't make mistakes, thou judgeth too one dimensionally....!

I agree our D was substandard indicating we took them lightly.  But I don't think enough can be said for their experience and team talent level.  They are on the few teams that can match up with us at every position well.   Lucky for us, they do not match up well with San Antonio or LA.

Yup.

Dallas doesn't have our number.  We just couldn't seal the deal last night.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
IMO, the Mavs have been the best team in the West all season. They've beaten just about every top tier team that's been put in front of them. If the Lakers don't make it to the finals it will most likely be the Mavs.

The Hawks had our number a while back, so did Washington. Bobcats, too, if I recall correctly. I am still confident that if we're healthy, no team will be able to beat us in a seven game series. We gave the game away and lost to a very good basketball team. No big deal, really. I'll be very surprised if the Spurs and the Lakers don't meet in the WCF.

Also, I am calling a win tomorrow. Yes, it feels good to be an optimist.

Go Celtics!
