The Lakers are being scrutinized the same way the Celtics were last year. The latest Ron Artest bs is similar to the Ray Allen rumors before the trade deadline. While Artest is a headcase, I seriously doubt he, or any other Laker will be traded.

That just means we end up with HCA for Game 7 and we also get to shoot 15 more FTs in the 4th quarter, 20 for the game  ;)

And that is the craziness of LA. I saw on ESPN that now Ron Ron doesn't want out.

As for the thread? I have thought about the comparisons. I thought that we had a better showing vs the League's Elite last year, if I'm not mistaken.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but last year we were 1-3 vs CLE and ORL? 1-1 vs LA? 2-2 vs ATL?

Our issue last year was playing down to our opponents and losing 17 games at home last year, if I'm not mistaken - somewhat similar to LA's issues.

One major difference was that LA did not have to deal with the amount of injuries that we had last year, too.

Yeah, rumors of the Lakers' demise have been greatly exaggerated.  Although they remind me more of the Yankees, where anything short of total dominance leads to all kinds of hand-wringing and panic in the organization (not just among the fans). 

But I'll believe the Lakers are done when somebody beats them a fourth time in the playoffs.  Til then it's way to soon to bury them, though it's been fun to watch them struggle a bit.

You can't publicly call for a trade or you'll get fined (like Rudy in Portland), not to mention alienating the entire team.  Even Carmelo hasn't publicly said "trade me" although it's been glaringly obvious all year. 

This is the difference between an anonymous source and asking the player directly, not Artest abruptly changing his mind.

Agreed and also as much as I hate to say it we look like the Lakers not last year but in 09 when they won against Orlando, no matter what almost always finding a way to win, strong starts, clicking on all cylinders etc..

I actually would prefer we won this year against a team other than LA.

Then next year we sweep them and win back 2 back titles now that would be real "REVENGE"
