Right now the Globe is running submissions for fans of their most memorable games.

http://www.boston.com/sports/basketball/celtics/extras/01_27_11_memorable/#/item-14808

Above are the poll options for the games that got the most submissions.  From the submissions so far, Game 5 of the 76 Finals is well ahead, but a real surprise is the 1992 regular season game against Portland which is basically known as Larry Bird's last great game.  I listed some others that got some real love as well, and we all know there are plenty more to choose from that are not on my poll.

1/30/11 against the Lakers - at least that's what Walton said. ::)

I have to go with the 1976 Game 5 v. the Suns: "The Greatest Game Ever Played".  We've discussed this here in the past.  My story: I was a senior in high school and drove a group of friends for pizza, leaving during the 4th, figuring we'd listen to the end on the way.  We ended up sitting in the car for 3 overtimes outside the pizza place, screaming along with Johnny Most while one improbable play after another unfolded. Emotional highs and lows -- exhausting and indelibly memorable.

Game 4 in 08 springs to mind (too young for 76 or 84).  The clobbering we took for the first 30 minutes was memorable too, and obviously the comeback will always be remembered.  I'll never forget the slow burn on Phil's face when Eddie hit a 3 to cut it to 6 late in the 3rd quarter.  The game and the series was slipping away from them, and he knew it.

We didn't win the championship that game but it sure felt like it.
