Phoenix sends Bargnani, 9.20, and 10.22

A pretty even deal for both sides that took a couple rounds to finally come to fruition.

I think Bargnani is the more talented player, but I felt like we needed Jordan's defensive abilities and rebounding. He's also a better fit next to Jamison.

Still some work to be done in Phoenix, but I'm feeling better about my roster with each move.

Nice deal for Phoenix. Very tough for Sacramento to have any type of interior defense with Cousins and Bargnani out there.

I think this one has the potential to work out well for both sides.  I thought Phoenix suffered from having very poor defenders at both the 1 and 5, and I didn't think Cousins and Jordan were a great fit next to one another.  This trade makes sense, even if Bargnani is farther along in his development than Jordan.

I'm still going to have Taj Gibson start and have Bargnani come off the bench. I expect to play him mostly  at the 4, and possibly some 3.

Bad things happen when Andrea Bargnani plays the three.

A defensive nightmare. His team gets killed in transition, he is already one of the worst transition defensive big men in the league but he is absolute train wreck as a SF. He costs your team an additional 3-5 points a game on layups/dunks from transition opportunities alone as a SF.

It's not just transition hoops, that is just one area of the team defense where he is an absolute train wreck. Just too slow and too dumb to make proper / timely defensive rotations from the SF position. Your team defense will fall apart repeatedly on the first or second defensive rotation whenever Bargnani is asked to make a rotation for you. Consistently lost within the defensive concepts.

It was painful watching Toronto experiment with this idea a couple of years ago. When they had Jermaine O'Neal and Bosh on the floor with him. Teams were just running all over them and getting whatever they wanted against the Raps defense with shocking regularity.

Bargnani is a somewhat serviceable bench player. You should limit him to around 20 minutes a night in that role and be prepared for quite a bit of inconsistency offensively (similar to first and second seasons). It's the additional minutes that helped wipe that away (or at least minimize it).

That will give you your strongest team.

Jeez. Props to Redz...I gave up on that list early last week!
