Well Now IP has told me that I had pick 7.22 so I am going to pick

Edit. how do i have 7.22 again? haha

Dunno.  That looks like Phoenix's pick (from OKC, in the Carter / Mayo trade) to me.  Has there been a subsequent deal?

The Celts picked Shannon Brown.  We're still trying to figure out the OKC / Phoenix / Minnesota (?) situation at 7.22.

A couple steals I've noticed in the draft so far based on other picks.  Please feel free to expand!

-Goran Dragic round 6 (considering Beno Udrih round 4)
-Mickael Pietrus round 7 (considering Batum, Ariza round 2; Battier, Casspi round 3)
-Kurt Thomas round 7 (considering Nazr round 4)
-Caron Butler round 4 (considering Brandon Roy round 1)
-Every player in rounds 3-7 (considering Landry Fields round 2)  ;D

I do think that the player taken higher in each instance was quite a bit better (and in many cases younger and/or healthier) than the player selected later, with the possible exception of Casspi (who I'm just not a huge fan of.)

We do agree, though, that Landry Fields was the biggest reach of the draft so far. ;)

Boston selects Shannon Brown

and Milwaukee thinks that Landry Fields was a bit of a reach, but he's a rotation worthy player, and he'll do very well in Milwaukee.

Great pick ... if I hadn't needed more bigs, he would've been my pick this round ... hard to believe he was still available also.

I agree. Commissioner IP just did Boston a favor.

Commissioner IP just took his 8th round pick for another team after some serious moral deliberations.

I strongly considered Brown, too, but Lakers fans are downright harsh about his play.  We all knew he can't play defense, but at least according to the internets, his basketball IQ is somewhere south of Gerald Green's.

The kid can score, though, and he's athletic as heck; there's no doubt about that.

Will I have to wait for them, or can I make my pick starting at 10?

I'd say hold off, at least until either Lucky17 (who it looks like the pick belong to) or IP shows up (or until 10:50, whichever is earlier).

I really like the Brandon Rush pick. Best pick of the second half of the last round.

Josh McRoberts, Joel Anthony and Raja Bell were nice pickups too.

The OKC to Phoenix trade was

Quote
OKC sends: OJ Mayo, 7.2, 10.22
Phoenix sends: Vince Carter, 8.13, 9.13

The Phoenix to Minnesota trade was
Quote
Phx sends
JJ Hickson, Ron Artest, 7.13

Minn sends
Ben Wallace, Antawn Jamison, Aaron Afflalo

I don't see the pick named in either place. Was there any other trades between the three teams?

------------------------------------------

Minnesota also traded away Paul Pierce and acquired Deron Williams

Quote
Minny Trades: Paul Pierce, 5(22)
Mil: Josh Smith, 4(7)

Still looking for the Deron Williams deal ... ah, here we go

Quote
Minnesota Sends: Noah, Jameer, and 5.16

for

Utah Sends: Deron, 3.18 and 6.18

-------------------------------------------

There was also this deal earlier in the draft

Quote
Seattle Trades:
3.22, 5.22, 10.22

Minn Trades:
3.18, 7.2, 10.2

And a Phily-Minnesota trade

Quote
Philly trades: 6(10) and 9(10)
Minnesota trades: 6(18) and 8(2)
