Pretty major trade:

Minnesota Sends: Noah, Jameer, and 5.16

for

Utah Sends: Deron, 3.18 and 6.18

I like the trade for Utah.

Unless there is another big trade for Minn, they are way to small.  There is not another C out there close to the level they need for that team.

Wow. I need to see the updated rosters for both teams.

Williams is a special player, but I might prefer to have Noah, et al.

Deron is by far the best player in the deal.  Now, time for Minnesota to do something about its three small forwards.

I traded Tayshaun and 6.2 for the 2.16 and 5.16
CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

Ah, missed that one.  I'm curious to see where you end up.  PP + Deron is a heck of a combo, and I think both Jameer and Noah are overrated.

Not hate, size question.

I think by now, most people in this would know I am a big believer in size kills in the NBA.

Personally though, I'd take DeAndre Jordan over Serge Ibaka even in the present. It's awfully close though.
I like Ibaka's defense a heck of a lot more than Jordan's.

A side by side comparison is pretty telling, given that they've played nearly identical minutes this season (1200 vs. 1205). Jordan holds a slight edge in rebounding and he's finishing around the hoop at an absurd rate (67% FG%) but he's also a major liability at the charity stripe (shooting sub-50% versus Ibaka's 75%) and lacks Ibaka's mid-range jumper. They foul at a nearly identical clip. Ibaka is the more disciplined defender and better shot blocker.

And Ibaka is actually a more efficient player because he doesn't turn the ball over at such a high rate. He's much more ready to play be a role player than Jordan.

Torn over this trade for Minnesota.

Is Williams, Lewis, and Pierce a great starting point for a franchise? Hell yeah. But Minny's next pick is 3.18 and who is going to be left to fill in the center position and then the SG position later on that will make that 3 player start fulfill it's promise?

There's 30 more picks before 3.18.

Not A center that I like here, I think a bunch that I could pick here as a reach will probably be there at 3.18.

So Minn selects

Defensive Stopper and 3 pt shooter Aaron Afflalo

CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I've gotta go to the gym and make my long commute home, so for the time being, the venerable Roy Hobbs esquire will be acting commissioner. He can handle anything you need, just don't be upset if he spreads around justice faster than Nancy Grace, but without the southern charm.

EDIT: Also, Rondo...Called it!
