OK, making my selection now.

Phoenix selects J.J. Hickson.

He's lost a lot of credibility in my eyes.
Hickson would be very nice alongside Steve Nash though.

He is a very good finisher and Nash will simplify his life no end. He could easily be an 18+ point per game scorer in Phoenix while shooting 55% or so from the floor.

Yep. He's going to be the third or fourth option on offense. He's a top-20 rebounder based on 48-minute averages.

He doesn't have to carry this team, just contribute 10-12 points a night and rebound.
Hickson has been on absolute tear over the past month going for almost 11 boards a night in just under 29 minutes.

However, before that, this season and the two previous years, Hickson was fairly average on the backboards.

He's doing that against opposing centers now, yes?

I was looking at his numbers at 82games.com, which don't seem to be up to date.
Yep, most of his minutes seem to be coming at the five since Varejao went down.

Byron Scott berated Hickson for his poor rebounding earlier in the year and benched him until he put in more effort. It seems to be happening ... for now ... it'll be interesting to see if it holds up over the remainder of the year.

If it does, and hopefully it will, it'll greatly improve Hickson's impact as a PF.

Bryon Scott had his but on the bench for long stretches because of his poor rebounding.

Given his numbers for the past month, he seems to have gotten the message.

22 years old, and coachable. How refreshing.

I have my doubts he'll keep it up, he has little competition for rebounds and is playing closer to the rim at the 5. Still if he put the effort in he shouldn't be a 14 rebound rate guy.

Anyone want to trade?    ;D

TheWiz select Greg Monroe

Huge Monroe fan. Would love to see him get out of Detroit.

Yeah, he's going to be good. He may never be a team's 1st option on offense, but he contributes in a lot of ways. Can score 10-12 a night without having the offense run plays for him.

That said, I'm surprised to see him go this high.

Rookie big man that has been on a big upswing.

This past month, he has averaged 11 points, and 9 rebounds while shooting 60%.  And without a true PG or teammate that draws a double team.

Not many guys left in the draft with this much size and output.

True.

Problem is, he needs a strong big man at C alongside him. Pistons play him alongside Wallace, who draws a lot of attention on the glass.

Not as sure about his pairing alongside Bosh, who's known as a "fake tough guy". He does have great upside, though.

He is big enough to play C.

But TheWiz agree, there is a need for some "dirty" big men on the bench.

There's some real interesting candidates out there. If I were a contender, I'd be pretty pleased with how this morning session went.

While we're on break, I think it's a great time for people to give IP a TP or two, and post updated rosters in the roster thread.

http://forums.celticsblog.com/index.php?topic=44137.msg910990;topicseen#new

Also, I'm going to go into the chat room, and lurk, if anyone wants to talk about rosters or trades.

Just to clear this up ... the draft board wasn't updated for this trade.

Thanks for all your work on this draft IP.

Ha habido una transacción.

Indiana trades: Roy Hibbert + fourth rounder (6th pick)

New York trades: Second rounder (15th pick) + third rounder (15th pick)

If anyone is interested in trading up, Indiana are open to offers for the 15th pick.

I am looking for a late 2nd rounder + to improve my draft position in a later round. Or a trade for a player already taken.

IP admitted he was reaching (Although I still like the pick)  Havent you seen 8 mile?  If you say everything your competitor was going to say about you right up front nobody has anything left to say.  And then you win rap or draft battles

You might be right. I may be crazy. Like a fox.

Seriously within the next two days I'll either look really good or I'll be really mediocre..like the actual bucks.
