That pick just about killed me. He's not worth Brandon Jennings and might have still been there at 3(7), but I know that at least one of the other guys I was targeting will be there at 3(7)..so there you go.
I don't think he would be there for you in 3(7). I have Jennings higher but don't have your personal frustrations with him either. Nice pick!

He's moving up since a poor beginning of the season. Good pick.

OK, making my selection now.

Phoenix selects J.J. Hickson.

He's lost a lot of credibility in my eyes.

Hickson would be very nice alongside Steve Nash though.

He is a very good finisher and Nash will simplify his life no end. He could easily be an 18+ point per game scorer in Phoenix while shooting 55% or so from the floor.

Yeah, he's going to be good. He may never be a team's 1st option on offense, but he contributes in a lot of ways. Can score 10-12 a night without having the offense run plays for him.

That said, I'm surprised to see him go this high.

Strong pick, I was hoping he'd be around in the 3rd for me.  His passing, defense, and FT shooting still haven't quite caught up to what he showed at Georgetown, but he's becoming an excellent rebounder and solid finisher with a very high ceiling.  Could be the next Lamar Odom-type, or even better.

Yep. He's going to be the third or fourth option on offense. He's a top-20 rebounder based on 48-minute averages.

He doesn't have to carry this team, just contribute 10-12 points a night and rebound.

Rookie big man that has been on a big upswing.

This past month, he has averaged 11 points, and 9 rebounds while shooting 60%.  And without a true PG or teammate that draws a double team.

Not many guys left in the draft with this much size and output.

True.

Problem is, he needs a strong big man at C alongside him. Pistons play him alongside Wallace, who draws a lot of attention on the glass.

Not as sure about his pairing alongside Bosh, who's known as a "fake tough guy". He does have great upside, though.

Hickson has been on absolute tear over the past month going for almost 11 boards a night in just under 29 minutes.

However, before that, this season and the two previous years, Hickson was fairly average on the backboards.

The Cavs play at a reasonbly high pace, Hickson is 38th overall at rebound rate. Just above Greg Monroe.

He's doing that against opposing centers now, yes?

I was looking at his numbers at 82games.com, which don't seem to be up to date.

Bryon Scott had his but on the bench for long stretches because of his poor rebounding.
