Why is Semih Erden, a deep 2nd Round Draft Pick, NBA Rookie (although I'm aware he's 24 and played in Europe) who has limited knowledge of the C's team and NBA game and still on the steep part of the Learning Curve starting over our Championship Center with 8 years experience? This is an insult to Perkins even when coming back from injury and not in the best shape IMO! It's one thing to have a Future Hall Of Famer in ShaQ start over him but this is ridiculous!

Probably because Doc is going to start Shaq for the rest of the year and doesn't want to start a controversy over it.

Perk has only been back 2 games.  Patience.

I don't think it will last much longer.

I don't think so...

Rivers said he isn't sure when Perkins will return to the starting lineup, but he reiterated on Thursday that it was going to happen.

"He's going to re-enter it. It's just a matter of when," Rivers said. "Perk's a starter, and he'll be a starter at some point. I like our starting lineup with him in it. I like our bench with Baby and Shaq. I think that's terrific."

I personally like Shaq with the starters.  I think it maximizes his efficiency.  A few years ago, I would've felt the opposite, as I think he could've carried the second unit.  However, at this point, part of what makes him (and the starters) so darn effective is that you can't leave anyone alone.

I also worry about Baby and Shaq defensively.  At least KG can help Shaq out defensively.  But Shaq and Baby could be a problem.

However, if Shaq does go the bench, the return of West may help as he and Nate will help spread the floor and potentially open up things for Shaq, who would likely be playing even more against backup centers.

If all are healthy, the big man rotation will certainly be a glorious dilemma for Doc to ponder!   ;)
Stay classy, San Diego. Hello, Baxter? Baxter, is that you? Bark twice if you're in Milwaukee. Is this Wilt Chamberlain? Have the decency to say something.

Maybe he's not starting because he just recovered from 6 months of rehab from knee surgery, and he wasnt scheduled to be back this soon anyway...

That may or may not have something to do with it.

And I was watching the game last night thinking, "Man, Semih really doesnt look like a rookie at all." Its nice having him as a 4th option at center when everyone is all and well.

Because, Doc probably is thinking... let's get off to a rhythm to start w/ people who have been in a groove and playing this season, let's get momentum then bring Perk along. No pressure on Perk to help get us going, all he has to do is come in and work off where we start. Notice, Semih only got like 3-4 mins at the start last game.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

I actually think it's pretty cool that a rookie #60 pick is the C's starting center for this short window of time.  How great for him, and what a statement of confidence from Doc that he is trusted in that role at this point in his career.  I love it.  I'll also love it in a week when Perk resumes his role as starter and Semih, experience in hand, takes a seat.

Perk played 21 minutes last game. Come on Doc, you gotta start him already. Maybe against the Lakers?
