It's a bruised thigh.

They just interviewed Pierce on Comcast ... it's a bruised thigh, ("Charlie-Horse"), not a knee injury, and he said he should be fine for tomorrow.

Bruised thigh? Nice, luckily thats nothing serious. We dont need him to beat Phoenix tommorow, but will need him against LA.

Pierce isnt Jermaine O'neal.

A bruised thigh isnt going to keep him from playing vs the Lakers.

A bad thigh bruise can be pretty serious and linger for weeks. Hopefully this is a more superficial injury.

But now that we know it was a charlie horse, does anyone else find it kinda weird that Pierce didn't tough it out? He's usually a warrior bout stuff like that

Why try and play through it? As much as I wanted us to win...this game wasn't all that important...I mean not important enough to try and play through an injury.

Besides, it was the final 2 minutes...and we had a decent lead.

Idk, i guess i'm also askin why he ran to the locker room for a charliehorse. But i didn't feel his pain, i'm just sayin.

What is a charlie horse? Is it a slang for a thigh bruise? A thigh bruise can be very painful and serious...like all injuries prevention is better than cure.

im not sure there is a difference. But i've had one and i kept playing through it. The next few days were a Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. though. But pierce's was probably much worse than mine that's all i can think of. I'm jus so relieved though

I think you are assuming he knew it was just a "Charlie Horse"... I'm sure he thought (at the time) it was something worse. PP is tough as heck, I would bet he thought it worse so he went into 'I better get it checked b4 I (potentially) make it worse' mode.

Conflicting info...but it doesn't look/sound serious..and he is questionalble for the game against PHX. I'm pretty sure he will play against LA.

While the Celtics said Pierce has a thigh bruise, he said he banged knees and it's a knee bruise. It doesn't appear serious #celtics

#Celtics say Pierce has bruised right thigh. He says he banged knees with another player. Regardless, he's still ? for #Suns game.

Pierce's status is up in the air heading into Friday's game at Phoenix.

"Hopefully it doesn't swell up too much," Pierce said. "It swelled up a little bit, but not too bad. Hopefully it'll be all right for (Friday)."

"He was struggling, trying to run," said Celtics coach Doc Rivers. "We'll have to wait and see. I don't know if there are going to be X-rays or not. We didn't even check that. We don't need injuries, I can tell you that. We got enough of those."

Any injury involving the knee is never good.....if he misses a couple games it's going to be tough w/ out him.
