I think the Celtics SHOULD TRY to trade Gody but will have no takers.

I think Gody looks way better than Baby did as a rookie. He's in better shape, has a better motor, better outside shot, just as good around the rim and probably a better rebounder.

If you don't put a body on Gody, he'll grab ten boards on you in a hurry. He also lays a body on anyone around him - if Baby layed a body on guys like Gody does, he'd get 12 boards a night. But he doesn't do it.

If I were GM I would have absolutely "zero" plans on trading Harangody. You will be hard pressed finding a better 9th or 10th man for your roster who can play a few positions for you and who works as hard as Gody every minute he's on the floor.

He's a smart, cagey player and those types of guys help you win games with their hustle and dirty work.

I like Big Baby alot and it's not a knock on him. He;s has other skills - specifically to be able to guard some of the biggest, strongest guys in the league at the C and PF spots, hist outside shots, take charges, etc.

I'd like to keep both to be honest - but I'm worried Baby might cost too much. Someone will over pay for him.

I wouldn't worry too much about trading Harrangody...mainly since no one is going to give up anything for him.  He may be a servicable player, but at this point, end of the rotation undersized PF's are a dime a dozen in the NBA.

Again, while Gody may turn into a nice bench player on a contender, he's not a guy we're going to look back at 5 years from now and say, "if only we hadn't traded him away!"

try, however, no one is going to be calling danny up proposing a deal for him.  the only way he would be traded is if he is a filler for a deal involving other players.

For the right package, anybody is tradeable...Baby is still young himself.  For me, I continue to develop Baby, Gody, and Semih. Unless the right package comes along. All 3 have talent and still need developing.  Let them sit behind the vets still and learn from the best.  Nothing wrong with that.

Lets put it this way.  No one wants him enough to give up a legit asset for him.  Better?

I agree with both of you but the fact is he most likely would be included in a deal should we make one.

Why do you say that?  His value is minimal, and his contract is tiny.  I think he actually would be a guy they might want to hang on to if they make a trade, because he can provide cheap depth.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I'm sorry but Gody is TERRIBLE.
The guy has heart and is gutsy as hell but he just won't cut it in the long run.
His shot is terrible, his one on one defense is terrible.
He's a great rebounder but that's about it.
Keep BBD over this guy any day i'm sorry.

I don't think Gody will be on the roster next year, so if they can trade him that would be the best for the team.

Gody...lays a body on anyone around him ...can play a few positions for you"

I'm not sure what position other than small-man PF Gody can play, but if Gortat sees Perk as a 'little dog', what would he think of Gody, that he's a pet hamster?
