If he keeps making the extra effort plays and rebounds etc like he has been, he might develop into a BBD replacement next season (when BBD demands extra $).

Good idea to keep him around.

I would be very surprised if Davis doesn't go to highest bidder and there will be more than a few gm's in the nba that will overpay (don't they always).  So let Davis walk we have Gody who brings different things to the table, albeit not as much as Davis (now) but he can develop, another v good late draft pick by the scouts of the boston celtics and mr ainge! 
Davis can give us minutes at center as well but the way Semih has progressed I think we'll be set for our 3rd string center for awhile.  Glen is smoother offensive wise but Gody is possibly our best guy at boxing out AND getting rebounds. 
The only trade guy I see at this point is Robinson if west comes back strong  unless there is an unbelievable upgrade going to happen.

Gody may end up being a good NBA player; however, given this team's narrow window of opportunity, I'd be happy to deal him if we can upgrade the team in the short term.

With the new CBA, it may be much easier to hang on to BBD.

I do like Davis but with Gody and Erden playing well and the potential to get better if the Celtics wanted to gamble and let Davis walk... assuming he'll ask for big money... they could.

I just love the fact semih and gody r getting a good amount of pt. U never know we may need to turn to one of the two in the playoffs and they may turn in a big game

I have to disagree with that.  Gody is much much more sound fundamentally than BBD was and maybe is.  BBD outside of his hustle plays was very poor his rookie season.  And even now with vast improvment he is very limited in what he can do on offense and I wish he'd box out like Gody on defense.  Once Gody gets more settled into the offense his numbers will go way up and he's a threat from everywhere on the floor. That is something the Celtics are very very weak on after Pierce and Allen.

I'd put money on Gody's numbers in 4 years being better than BBD's are now.

Gody is a better defensive rebounder than Davis is, and he's a better catch at shoot player than Davis as a rookie. But other than that I think Davis was a superior player as a rookie.

Sure he can rebound on defense but he is too small to guard PF's and too big and slow to guard SF's. He is a liability on D. I love his game and what he brings but tweeners like him never really can be counted on in a good defensive rotation.

That being said he is a great energy guy for 5-8 minutes per game if BBD is not giving you anything.
