will he travel with the team on the west coast road trip ? that's what i read a while ago,his official return should be no later than feb 4th. but with injuries to shaq and jermaine, our starting C is semih erden, i hope he could return against the lakers.

That game is gonna be too intense for perk's first game back imo.
I'd take my chances with Semih, and BBD, doesnt matter if we lose one game now.
I'm hopin shaq can at least give 10-12 minutes. I think it's gonna take something serious to keep him out of that game
Andy Bernard doesnt lose constests. He wins them, or he quits them because they're unfair.

I think Perkins indicated that he preferred his first game back to be a home game.

He's young & intense.  I don't want Perk to push it and be done for the season, take it easy, doc work the minutes, let it come to him.  Thankfully he isn't a josh smith type of player.

Exactly. He said he won't play on the West Coast trip, will travel with the team tough, and will return in the first game after that trip, which is the Dallas game on Feb 4. 11 days left, I can't wait to see him!

His target date for return is at home vs the Mavs on 02/04.  I can't remember who said this, Doc or Danny, but they said  even if he may be ready earlier they aren't going to rush it and coming back at home would be more comfortable.

Will be interesting to see how the rotation works out when he returns.  Shaq is most effective with the starting unit but unless Perk falters I don't expect him to start.

Maybe it's just me but the time of his return seems much sooner than expected.
I'm so glad he's doing well and just can't wait to see that awesome player on our court again.

Same as with Welker.  In part, I think the medical work and rehab approach must be improving generally.  Also, these are two really hard working pros.  You'd expect that when a tiny guy like Welker makes it in the NFL.  The record is rather more spotty with big guys in the NBA, who get there as much by their size as by their will.  Thus, I take this demonstration of Perk's commitment and maturity to be especially notable.

Wow I cant believe its only 11 days left... I really hope he hasnt pushed his injury and tried to come back too soon. i cant wait to get our true starting five back before the end of the season, as much as I do love seeing Shaq out there with the big three and Rondo.

By the way I think that 'no later than feb 4th" should be "no earlier than feb 4th"

I would like Perk to come off the bench at home in his first game just to see the crowd reaction when he checks into the game.

I think he will and should.  Honestly can't wait for Perks return.

Yep. After his initial practice (with the first team), he is now running with the second unit. I take that as he will work his way back into the starting lineup as his minutes increase.

That's probably why he's travelling with the team, to practice full-contact with the team instead of shoot jumpers by himself.

I don't want to see him return to the site of the crime until June.
