That would be Manny and Damon.  For some reason, I think this is a great move.  Not that this makes the Rays that much better but just for the pure entertainment value in the AL East.

After seeing what the Yankees & Rays have done this offseason, you have to be pretty optimistic as a Sox fan about taking the divison.

Yeah the Rays didnt have the bests offseason to say the least. In another couple years theyll build up their talent again to compete but this year they dont look like theyll be in contention.

Yeah the Rays didnt have the bests offseason to say the least. In another couple years theyll build up their talent again to compete but this year they dont look like theyll be in contention.

Yeah, they have something like 9 draft picks in the first two rounds this year, so they'll be able to restock.  I think this will be the pattern with Tampa.  1-2 years of contention, followed by 2-3 years of rebuilding, followed by 1-2 years of contention again.  It worked for the Marlins for awhile, and it got the Rays a World Series appearance, so I guess I can't fault the strategy.
