I heard on PTI that Golden State's owner said he's willing to trade Curry.  He doesn't think he and Ellis can co-exist.

What are the chances the Celtics have enough to get him without hurting the team?

Delonte West, Bradley and Gody for Curry?  Works on the trade checker.  Throw in a first round pick?  Curry might turn out to be the next Ray Allen.

Call me crazy but I found it hard to believe they'd move Curry instead of Ellis.

I don't see why they'd do that trade.  West is a journeyman and Bradley/Gody are at least a year or more away from possibly contributing

It's arguable about whether Golden State would trade Curry for Rondo.  They're not going to take anything less from us, I would imagine.

Agreed

I heard on PTI that Golden State's owner said he's willing to trade Curry.  He doesn't think he and Ellis can co-exist.

Here is the owner's quote

http://www.mercurynews.com/tim-kawakami/ci_17154660?nclick_check=1

Quote
Lacob said he loves the offensive firepower of the Warriors' Monta Ellis-Stephen Curry backcourt, but had questions about the duo's ability to hold up defensively.

"I really like those guys as individuals, and I like them as players," Lacob said. "But I have to be honest, it depends. If we got offered a great situation, would I break it up? Yes."

...............

The owner called Ellis "our core, franchise player," and agreed that Curry has not played to the standards of last season.

"Does that mean that Curry would be traded, or more likely to be traded than Ellis? Not necessarily," Lacob said. "It really depends. "... This is all dependent on what you're going to get in return."

But the difference from just last summer is unmistakable: Curry used to be beyond trade talk, even for Lacob, and he's not now.

...............

Lacob said he won't do a bad trade just to make a trade, but emphasized that team executives have to be willing to embrace something dramatic when the right deal comes along.

"We're willing to do anything to improve this team -- I told you," Lacob said.

He is only willing to move Steph Curry if he gets a great offer. GSW are not dumping Curry ... just willing to trade him to get a different top talent who suits their team better.

He is right to break up Curry and Monta. They cannot function alongside one another.

Both are top 10 PGs in this league (Curry as a top offensive facilitator / playmaker and Monta as a scoring PG) ... but both are incapable of playing the two spot at a high level.

This is why I stopped posting on this site as much as I used to... do you honestly believe that trade would interest the Warriors, or do you say that to be funny?

Wonder if the Golden State and the Kings would gamble on this one.....

makes Udrih the 3rd guard, or trade bait...could Curry start at PG with Ty. Evans at the 2, or will they run into a problem similar to the one Golden State now faces....Evans can play the 2 but how much does he need the ball.....?

Golden State gets a nice bigs rotation, gambling Udoh won't match Cousin's value.
starts Ellis, Bell or Reggie Williams, Dorell Wright, D. Lee, Cousins.....Biedrins and Landry off bench

So ignore the trade proposals.

Anyhow, I actually believe the Warriors FO is getting this one right by choosing to keep Monta (although I don't expect them to deal either one of them).  Ellis is a better scorer and a much better defender.

I honestly believe that Curry may be the worst starting PG in the league, in terms of defense - it's between him and Calderon.  There are guys like Nash who are clearly poor defenders, but at least Nash tries.  I've never seen Curry fight through a screen.

Monta, on the other hand, is much quicker, so he stands a better chance at staying in front of PG's.  I've seen him play well on defense in spurts, so I think the ability is there.

Another good joke for the Comedy Forum.

Mods, when are we going to rename this forum?  It's long overdue.

Joe Lacob said that the main reason he wanted to break up the ellis/curry duo is because of there defensive liability when they play together. He did say he was open to trading either for a star player but that referred more to Ellis because he said Ellis was their "franchise player". If anyone took Curry they would have to take either Biedrins bad contract or David Lees HORRIBLE contract. You guys can laugh at me and flame me all you want but I wouldn't be suprised one bit if a deal including bradley got the job done because of his defense and ability to co-exist with ellis but compliment him with his defense. Lacob was an investor with the celtics from 2006-2010 and that could help. Curry would be excellent for now and the future. JO + Nate + Bradley + 1st Round + cash for JO = Curry + Biedrins/Lee

Oh, come on.  They aren't giving us two of their three best players for a pile of our scraps.

Be reasonable.

Hahaha.  The jokes keep rolling in.

David Lee's contract can hardly be called horrible, btw.

I'd go for it in a second if they agreed to these three and a pick, but not if it meant adding Ray. I doubt they'd do it, but it would be sweet, indeed!
