so Danny just had a press conference and he said the 3 worst words involving a knee there is 'bone on bone' in regards to JO and why they never considered major surgery.

That probably means his career may be over after this season. Sad.

not just that but he will be dragging that leg when he does play. lets just remember to file for a salary exemption once the playoffs are over.

I hate to see this happen to JO. I really like the guys, he tries hard for us, plays hard when he can, and actually is an art to watch on the defensive end of the floor.

Also probably the #1 reason he's not shutting it down. He recognizes a closing window when he sees it, and whatever he's got to give now, he's gonna give it.

And he'll have crippling arthritis in 10 years, which is pretty terrible.

How is this going to help his knees?

Strength training around an arthritic knee helps the joint to track properly, and reduces pressure/inflammation on the ligaments and joints.

Honestly, though, any elite athlete should have been doing that sort of training all along, so I have a feeling this is just PR spin for "He's going to play in pain."

Yeah, he probably knows this is his chance to go out on a high note. If the C's win the title, I think he retires.

And I'm sure once he hangs it up for good, he'll have a knee replacement, because the arthritis will be severe.

Precisely. This looks like the last hurrah for JO.  He won't be a big piece of whatever comes out of this season...pretty much just along for the ride.

Wasted MLE, I guess. Was Eric Dampier or Brad Miller available when we signed JO?

yep. that made sense in terms of how JO was  describing his pain. The cartilage is just not there.

don't know if there is any surgery to help that. microfracture?

JO was nothing more then "big man insurance" because Perk went down.

If Perk went down would we even have went after JO?

I dont think so. As long as our bigs stay healthy for the rest of the season and for the playoffs, losing JO isnt a problem.

When JO comes back hes good for 5 minutes and fouls.

I doubt JO will have any playtime during the playoffs.
