This kid seems to have endless range and has a pretty quick release. I think he could easily become an Eddie House type player, but is he capable of being more than a role player in the NBA? His shot reminds me of Steve Nash .

He leads the nation in scoring and has had a couple 40+ points game already this year.

I don't know that he has any NBA skills outside of his ability to shoot the ball.  He can probably make it as an Eddie House-type shooter, but I don't see him becoming any more than that.  He simply does not do anything else at a high enough level to become more than that.

I think unlimited range might be an understatement, though.  ESPN showed a highlight from the BYU-TCU game tonight in which he randomly pulled up from about 35-40 feet and swished it.  It was insane.

Eddie House might be a good comparison based on the two games I've seen of his. Can he transition to the point or at least handle the ball somewhat?

His shot reminds me of Steve Nash.

It reminds me of Dennis Scott but I guess that's not a bad thing, either.

At the least, he will be Eddie House.  A solid shooter off the bench.  He won't be Stephen Curry like, but he could be a very solid PG in the league.  He's a good passer and he's handles the ball all right, I'm just not sure he's quick enough yet.  He may be able to offset that by being strong.  He is pretty big, think he is right around Chauncy Billup's size.

Will he be the first BYU player other than Danny Ainge to win Player of the Year honors?  And does my boy Danny have his eye on him?

Can't help my imagination as that is my Alma Mater.

Let me just add, as long as he is closer to Eddie House and JJ Redick than he is to Adam Morrison, I'll be happy.  :-\

I would like to apologize to Jimmer Fredette.  He converted me tonight.

I could see him being Billups-lite.  I'm not sure he's as quick as Billups was, but he's still good enough at driving to the basket, and he proved to me tonight that he can get his shot off against bigger, more athletic players - very quick release, and he can hit from anywhere.

If he works hard on his passing and defense, he could be a good player for somebody.

In answer to the thread - most definitely.

Atzar pretty much sums it up. If he gets drafted by the right team, with NBA trainers and coaches, I see no reason why he couldn't start.

I agree with this 1,000 percent. The guy has a great chance to be a good to very good player in the NBA.

Jimmer Freddete, one of the names trending on Twitter. The way he carries himself on the floor, this is one of the reasons why he has become a popular figure. Raining jump shots that ignite Brigham Young University's offense appears to be Jimmer Fredette's raison d’être, according to the Twitter-sphere. After leading ninth-ranked Brigham Young University to a 71-58 win over fourth-ranked SDSU on January 26 with a whopping 43 points, Fredette still had the stamina to shut down Twitter temporarily, reports the New York Daily News. All the hype fit to tweet about the senior guard was enough to crash Twitter's servers for a while.

I've heard this comparrison before and it couldn't be farther off.  Jimmer's handles and ability to run an offense are much better than Eddie's.
