yes definitely, but I have read the Spurs and Magic are also interested in him. Both of those teams would likely be able to give him more playing time than he would get on the C's.

Both the Spurs and the Magic are over the cap so they can't offer more money than the Celtics (unless I am just completely misinterpreting the rules).

I think he said they could give him more playing time, not more money. Anyway, I would love to have him on the celtics, he's still relatively young too. I just hope he doesn't go to the Heat or the lakers.

He must have edited it right before I tried to quote him. Because I can guarantee it said money in their at one point.

Dont know about the rebound first thing, but Murphy has been a decent NBA big in the recent past and would give us depth at the 4/5 we could use. I have to wonder why he hasnt been able to crack the Nets rotation.

I have always thought of T. Murphy as the prototypical 10/10 guy...or at least he always was. I don't particularly 'love' him, but he is a very decent rebounder and a skilled big man. Of course I would love to have him on the team, but even if we were able to snag him for the rest of this year, he would definitely be a one and done.

Definitely a legit PF. Not the greatest big on D, but our team preaches team defense anyways. I don't think he'd be a one and done if we trade BBD elsewhere for a SF(BBD and JO for Stephen Jackson?)
Can't stop, Rondo!

I'd take him.  Good outside shooter, solid rebounder and he's only 30. He doesn't seem to be shooting very well from the field, but that may be because he's not logging consistent minutes.  The only thing is I don't feel 100% with him.  If he stinks and we trade Big Baby, we could be in trouble.
do it

Celtics don't want Jackson's contract.

I see no reason to make such a move.

Murphy would be a good replacement if JO goes on IR and the Celtics get an injury exception.  I just don't expect it to happen.

I think he would be a nice pickup for the Midlevel next season assuming JO is out and gone. His length and shooting touch would be nice off the bench especially to replace Baby if necessary. This all assuming the lockout doesnt kill the season of course.
