Getting that playmaking PG would be the tricky part. I don't know of many that won't be keepers.

I can think of a couple that I don't think will be keepers and given that the clips will have a high pick I think there is a good shot you could get it done.

Again, how stupid was it of Lebron not to go the clippers from a pure basketball perspective?  They would be the most entertaining team in the league.
Eh, Griffin/Gordon are good. But do you really think he'd choose them over Wade/Bosh?

That's without getting into ownership....

I wouldnt pick them over wade and Bosh(Although now I would pick blake over bosh), but I would pick their supporting cast over the Heats.  The Clipps have alot of good complimentary players if they had a true star to put them around.

Maybe in a couple of years when Miami uses the MLE to beef up their role players it will be better, but right now i think the Clipps with Lebron would have a better chance of winning it all.

BTW, any ruling on the Heat?  I can't imagine any team starting with Dwade and Bron not being the best hands down

Some franchises are definitely going to have advantages, just like in the "real" NBA.  The fun part is to see how players transform their teams from their real life counterparts, and comparing them.

It's also the reason this isn't a competitive league.  People don't start on equal footing, so it's all done for fun.

LeBron signed a 6 year contract, he should be thinking long term. Besides I don't think you could count on Griffin being this good and healthy.

Even in hindsight Miami is a better fit for now and the immediate future. Baron Davis would be much less of an impact player next to LeBron.

I agree Miami will be the favourite ... but I believe the Celtics and Lakers can mount a serious challenge too. A duo of Rondo and KG (exceptional non-scoring contributions) or Kobe and Pau (lethal inside/outside 1-2 punch) is also very strong.

The Oklahoma City Thunder will have a shot too. Durant and Westbrook is a heck of a combo.

Then there are a couple of secondary teams who start with very nice foundations. Chicago, Orlando, Dallas, Atlanta and Denver. Teams who if they got a bit of luck with their draft + trades ... could spring up the standings and put together a contender.

Yeah, I think trades can easily level out the top 4 duos.

I think Washington could be a real sleeper. You'd have to go-to work to really compete, but John Wall, another player and the 4th pick could be really good.

***We contracted the league from 30 teams to 28 this year, because the Raptors and the Cavaliers are both pathetic.
Personally, I think Detroit is the two worst team in the Pick II Draft.

The Cavaliers wouldn't be so bad. Only the top two players on the roster matter in this draft and with Varejao you have one very good piece to work with.

Add the top pick in the draft, with Varejao, and you'd have a nice foundation to build around. Very good chance to build a playoff team.

I'd exclude the Raps and Pistons but keep the Cavs.

Who, I will consider that.

On other news though, I'm happy to announcer that both Chris and Redz will also be joining us in the draft.

Technically we have a full roster of miscreants at 28, but if anyone else would like to participate speak up!! We have needs of co-GM's, and I can guarantee at least one person will bail, so we're gonna need a sub at some point.

some could ague that a rotation of Calderon, Bargnani.. nahhh
who i am kidding.... the raps stinks....

But Varejao and Pierce or Garnett can take you easily to playoffs
his stock is too low this days because of injury to consider them though
too easy to bash

In different news I am happy to announce i will kick that evil clowns behind bad in this draft too

I think Monroe has more upside than anyone the Cavs have; he's played very well after a rough first 20 games.  I'd take Monroe/Stuckey over Varejao and Mo/Jamison/Hickson though neither set is too appealing.
