Blatantly Rigged officiating last night

Celtics had to play near perfect again in order to overcome the thoroughly biased officiating.
Danny Crawford singlehandedly kept the Magic
in the game. Some questions:

1. Was it NBA policy the game had to be tight to instill
the "rivalry" selling point ?
2. The closing spread that bettors use was Celtics -3.
Official Vegas lines were from -3 to -4 all day. Notice
how every time the C's got up, the refs stepped in. They
appeared to not want Boston to cover that line, IF they win
at all. They succeeded. Boston bets either pushed or lost
against the spread. The money line bets won, but only because
our Boston players MADE that happen in face of the fix.

I am so disgusted this is still happening.

They were definitely coddeling Dwight but I dunno this is a little too much.  I don't the celtics persevered in the midst of a fixed game.  If it was fixed they would've gotten the outcome they wanted.

To be honest the refs always give Dwight gifts at the free throw line, the difference in this game was he shot his free throws very well.  I haven't seen his stats but it didn't seem like he missed much at all.

I am quickly losing interest in the NBA after going to the Spurs and Magic games.  Lots of "funny" things happened in the Spurs game to push the score just over the spread.  And I completely agree with you that the game last night was kept close because the C's were destroying ORL at the begining of the game and the stripes had to step in and keep ORL in the game and of course the final score had to fall just over the spread.

I paid for tickets to NBA games and a WWE event broke out!

If anyone caught the OKC/LAL game last night same junk happened at the end of the game to push LAL over the spread.  Westbrook misses 2 free throws (he shoots 86% for the season BTW) then he takes a horrible shot.  OKC basically has no chance to win with maybe 15 seconds at most left and they still foul Kobe who needs to make 1 of 2 to go over the spread.

It's all these high profile games that attracts all the gamblers, and it's really sad to see it's not the best team on the court that wins.

Games aren't fixed based on which team wins, it's fixed based on the vegas line/spread.  BOS was favored by 3.5 points.  Meaning if you bet on BOS you have to subtract 3.5 points from their final score.  So if you bet BOS who won the game by 3 points, you lose by .5 points based on the spread. 

Same thing happened at the Spurs game; C's were up huge late, easily covering the 2.5 spread.  Then all of sudden you have 2 straight steals and RA misses 2 free throws and the Spurs only lose 2 meaning BOS fails to cover the spread.

If you think oddsmakers can accurately predict the final scores you are clueless.  The spread moves based on how many people are betting on a given side; the same as in horse racing; if you keep betting the favorite their odds change.  It is not set in stone; by your logic the spread wouldn't move because an expert already knows how many points team A should beat team by B. LOL.

did NOT foul the Orlando player.. but it was called.
Totally incidental contact was being called. I saw one
call against Nate where he actually hit Ray not the Orlando
player. It was a joke. KG couldn't even touch a jersey.
if his long arms brushed against the back of someone it
was called a foul. He literally did not know what to do.
Doc obviously was besides himself.

The fact is that fixing an NBA game for the gambling line
and/or for the victor is not against the law.
Fixing NBA is totally legal. The entertainment provided
is the sole responsibility and asset of the Commissioner.

I was upset at a few calls last night, but overall I didn't mind how they officiated the game.

 They allowed both teams to be physical overall. Howard got away with more contact than our bigs, but that's probably just green colored glasses that I wear 24/7.

The only call I remember bothering me was the non-call on Howard's travel (of course they didn't show a replay, IIRC) that resulted in Bass' And-1. It sure looked like a travel to me.

Whatever, we won.

While the officiating was spotty at times last night I was pretty sure it was Ryan Anderson absolutely torching Luke Harangody in the late first and early second quarter for 4 threes and 14 points that got Orlando back in the game last night, not the refs.

not to mention multiple travels by Bass and Howard that were not called BUT they called traveling on KG with no hesitation. The moving picks called against the celtics were horrendous, and Howard threw up a few airballs which caused the refs to call a foul on the closest celtics to him even though their was no contact. Some of KG's fouls were with the soul purpose to get him out of the game, as he was not even involved in the play for some of them and they still gave the foul to KG. Pierce, Shaq, KG, and Davis got hit often going to the basket without foul calls, and Hedo had a blatant offensive foul late on Pierce that was not called.

I was at the game and had the feeling all night that the celtics could easily have blown out the magic if it wasn't for the officiating.

Ryan Anderson got away with 3 or 4 pushes in the back which I'm sure gained him praise from Boston fans regarding his great offensive rebounding.  It wasn't a well officiated game from Boston's perspective.
