Since Christmas day loss, Ray Allen shoots at least 50% in 12 straight games, first Celtics to do that since Robert Parish in 1993.
Its 88/144-61,1% FG !!!
    33/51 -64,7% 3ptFG !!!!!
    36/29 -89,7% FT
Trails Reggie Miller for only 27 3pts.
I really hope that coaches select Ray for his 10th all-star game...the onl thing that could prevent that would be believe that Celtics should'nt have 4 players because RR, KG and PP seems to be a lock...
But, congratulation for Ray, pray that hot streak last as long as possible.

Wow.  I knew Ray had been hot for awhile, but I had no idea he was *that* hot.  Those are amazing numbers for a shooting guard.

I was looking at his game logs the other day and they are staggering.

I honestly don't see how they can leave him off the All-Star team.

After Wade (who will be a starter), what SG in the East is more deserving?

I can't think of a single one.

Posted this in the countdown thread; but he's 28/40 from beyond the arc in the month of JAN; that's 70%.  I'm too lazy to do the math right now but that must translate to an unbelievable 2-point shot percentage.

42-72 on 2-pt FG, or .583%


Even more astonishing, his last 10 games he has shot 50% or better from behind the arc, making atleast 2 in every one!!

That's not what I meant; when you shoot 2 of 5 from 3 point land they say that's the same as shooting 3 of 5 from 2 point land because they both give you 6 points.

Alright I'll figure this out; 28/40 from 3 equals 84 points.  To get 84 points on 40 2 point shots is impossible!  It's over 100%; wow.  So basically his 2 point shooting percentage equivalent is 105% (42/40).

TP for the thread.  Ray's hot streak has been amazing to watch.  It kind of makes all of the "Trade Ray" threads last year seem comical.

My only fear is that he'll have a long cold streak to bring his averages down to their career norms.

Ahh... I see, you're talking about adjusted FG% (or eFG%)

If my math is correct, in January, his ADJ FG% is an incredible 75.0%.

Yeah, you can tell he respects Ray.

28 to break the record. 12 games from now we play at home vs the Lakers... On TNT.

2.33/game gets in that game. He's averaging 2.23/game for the season.

That seems like the perfect game to do it. At home, against the Lakers, with Reggie calling the game.

I used to think that someone would beat Ray's/Reggie's record pretty quickly with all of the 3 point shooting that occurs in the game today.  But not anymore.  To beat it, a player has to have the combination of shooting skills (obviously) and the ability to remain an effective starter into their mid-late 30s. 

I used to think that someone like Rashard Lewis would break the record, but as you can see from his decline in the pasts couple years, it is very very hard to remain an effective starter/player for 15 years.

It is awesome that we'll get to see it happen pretty soon.

I'd go with someone like Curry, Gallinari, or Brooks over him.

I go with Reggie, "There is no one ALIVE" currently right now "that will beat Allen's 3 point record".

I think thats true.

Glad to see Ray getting props for this ridiculous streak he is on. It just seems that anytime he throws the ball into the air, you know its going in the basket. Its amazing. I cant remember the last time I had so much confidence in a player when he had the ball in his hands. I just hope we dont jinx him!
