  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I'm not sure how many of you have seen this guy play regularly-
but if you ask me he was destined to be a celtic.
The guy is an absolute rebounding beast and an overall megaman in the paint.
If baby wants to ship out and chase the money we should be going after him.
It's going to be really hard for the grizzlies to resign him because they extended rudy gay and mike conley's contracts.
I think moving baby + nate+ some cash could probably get randolph.
I do think this is a worthwhile trade for the celtics. This guy has as much heart and desire as Garnett and would be even better under the guidance of KG/shaq/perkins etc...
Any thoughts on the power forward situation next year?
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.

  I'm thinking KG.

I think that claiming Zach Randolph was destined to be a Celtic could possibly be enough to get Red's ghost to haunt you.

I refuse to comment on this idea because I will probably get banned, restricted, and kicked off of Celticsblog.

After how he's played/ become a pseudo leader in Memphis, he'll get way more money than we can provide.

Yup -- Zach Randolph is out of the Celtics price range

It's funny, people have such a negative impression of him, me included, but why?

The guy puts up great numbers.

But yeah, we are all good at PF, and didn't you hear, we are getting D12 in 2012!

He might not want as much as in memphis. he's on 17 Million but that ends this year.
I don't understand why people hate him so much.
This guy has so much hustle and heart.
We are going to need a rebounding/defensve beast and i think this organisation could iron out any problems he has with all the mentors around.
Dwight is option numero uno but randoplh would be a great weapon in the paint come playoff time.

Got Randolph on my fantasy team...total beast on the boards overall and good for double digit points 9 out of 10 nights.  He may not be as popular or held in the same regard with other power forwards of the league like Dirk, Amar'e, Gasol, Garnett, and a few others, but he gets it done.  Seems like he got his attitude in check out in Memphis from his Portland/NY days..I personally wouldn't mind him in Boston if he kept his conduct cool and came at a good price, if it were at all possible.

No thanks. Better uses for that kind of money elsewhere. Even for less money, just... no thanks.

that's fair enough but where would you spend the money? there are a limited number of players who fill certain spots that are available next year.
Knowing our luck the lakers will probably get this SOB and he will be a thorn in our side for 5 years.
players to go in the not too distant future:
shaq
oneal
garnett(in 1 or 2 years)
baby (most likely)

We are going to need reinforcement in the paint and this guy is just plain nasty.
watch a grizzlies game next time theyre on and scrutinize his positioning and tenacity on rebounds and on defense.
hard to match.

I really like Randolph but we don't need him as long as we have KG.  If he wanted to take backup money, of course I'd take him, but he is an allstar talent so forgetaboutit.

I think his character has really changed the last few years. When he was on the JailBlazers, all we ever heard out of that camp was how awful he was and what kind of trouble he was in with the law for that current week. I've yet to hear any bad things, though.. At least since he's been in Memphis.

Even with that said and despite his rebounding, I still wouldn't want him. He might have changed his personality for the better but he's still as dumb as a sack of rocks. He has tremendously low BBIQ. Like Tony Allen after drinking a bottle of vodka. It's seriously that bad.

The guy is definitely a beast.  I'll withhold further comment (although he did recently show himself to be more mature than either O.J. Mayo or Tony Allen.)

But how much longer are we going to have KG?  If Randolph would be willing to be KG's backup for a year or two, sign me up.
