You know I had the same exact thoughts and it was on the same spot on the court and Ray Allen was trying to dribble out that clock a la Sam Jones circa 1965. I was all of six years old when it happened but I remember it like yesterday (well that is stretching the memory a bit).

KG seemed to play very well in his return and will help the Celtics win vital games these next 4 weeks to preserve the EC standings edge.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Good effort by the boys tonight. KG was huge as usual.
We had real big problems rebounding though.
It's just so much better having baby coming off the bench- he's such a gamebreaker coming in as 6th man.

I can't get over how many 3's the magic took.
They don't stand a chance in hell vs the celts in a 7 game series ESPECIALLY with a healthy perk and delonte.

Exciting times ahead.

C's hardly go after offensive rebounds. They were only outrebounded by 4. Look at the box score. I see know big problems.

We got out rebounded by a lot more than just the box score you're looking at.

Orlando had 12! team rebounds. Those are rebounds that the C's tipped out of bounds. We had a lot of go the Magic's way. (The C's only had 5)

So really the Magic got 46 rebounds and the Celtics had 35, that's a +11 margin for the magic. Then consider that the C's shot 60%, much better than the Magic so the C's had more defensive rebounds to go get and its worse.

The Magic rebounded 32% of their misses, so the C's only cleared 68% of available defensive boards. That's not very good, on the other end the C's only go around 20% of their misses so the Magic killed us on the glass.

That's the only reason they were even close.

were we watching the same game?
How many second shot attempts did the magic get?
How many put back attempts did howard get that we had to hack him and put him on the line?

It was our biggest weakness in my opinion.

Yep. KG back and step closer to a full team that is healthy for the playlets.

A second unit of shaq, BB Davis, delonte, Nate, and Daniels looks pretty good. There is scoring near the basket and two shooters from outside the 3 point line, BB and daniels can soot from mid range, and Daniels can cut to the basket.

That should be enough scoring.

Defense should be all right as well.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

It is annoying that the team rebounds are split by offensive and defensive on NBA.com.

Great coming back performance by KG last night...thank you for having a nice game because you might be in a new trade rumor on CB today. :)

Van Gundy said his team has to learn defense. Said they couldn't stop us. Well we are the best shooting team in Basketball. There is no real defense for us except to hope for an off nite or out score us. If we have an off nite we turn up the D a notch. Kinda hard to beat a team consisting of Rondo, Pierce, KG, Allen and whoever is the center. That's what we're hoping for a healthy team come playoffs.

I agree with everything you're saying except the bolded.

Maybe who we have been playing at center IS making a big difference. Shaq, JO, and BBD are all better offensive players. Better scorers and passers.

What else can we attribute this newfound offensive efficiency? Rondo may have improved slightly, but the big three are the same. Maybe they put in more work in the summer after the bitter defeat, but I think the threat at Center certainly is making a difference.

Once Perk comes back, I doubt we will have a precipitous decline, but we should still see a slight dropoff nonetheless.

However, I expect our defense to improve, maybe significantly.

I keep saying it, just give me this team healthy in April-May-June, and I will go to war against any team.
