First player in over 20 years to record a 10+ point, 10+ rebound, 20+ assist, and 5+ steal triple double.

I wonder how many players got their triple-double with no time remaining on the clock (according to espn.com play-by-play...but it appeared he got the ball with a second or two left)?

Very sweet night for the little guy! Man, I'm glad we signed him when we did ... can you imagine if we were trying to sign him now for the same amount we did last spring?!? We got a bargain for sure ... love Rajon, and I'm glad his future has a lot of green in it. ;)

Huh? Lol. He had a 20+ assist triple-double earlier this season, are you saying he is the first two have two 20+ assist triple doubles (ever or in the same season)?

Yes, it's a good thing Ainge took care of that matter when he did. Between his Celtics assist/steals records last season, the playoff run, and the way he is starting this season, we would be paying a lot more if we were talking to him now.

Confusing stat issue... on the big board at the game they didn't count that caught block as a board, but on the radio they said he had a triple double. W/e, he deserves the succinct, buzz word headline.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Rondo didn't have neither a 20-assist game nor a triple-double his previous game (against the TWolves). You are confusing me even further, lol.

Edgar is just quoting someone that said Rondo's last triple double was also 20+ assists, and that he is the first person ever to have done that...two 20+ assist triple doubles in a row.

Rondo is the second player ever to have a triple double with 20+ assists and 5+ steals along with Fat Lever.

Yes.  Such a smart move by Danny.

Rondo continues to impress.  No other PG I'd rather have.  And maybe the best part of the whole night for him was seeing him step up and hit shots in the 4th when you could tell they finally tried to take away his passing and dare him to shoot.

Saw the caught rebound when time expired by Rondo and didn't know if he was going to get credit for a rebound or not considering I wasn't entirely sure when he caught the ball. Went to bed after that and was glad to see they did give him the credit for the rebound.

Amazing game by him and you could tell his creative passing juices were flowing because he tried to sneak in a couple of those in traffic bounce passes too. He could easily have had three other assists as Shaq missed an alley oop. Ray missed an easy runner and there was another where I think baby missed a layup.

When everyone is healthy and he's cooking, one of these nights he's going to have a 30 assist game. Count on it.

Yeah, he's not that far off.  I think the one thing that may hold him back is our pace.  We have a fairly deliberate offense, which limits the number of possessions for Rondo to pick up assists on.  I believe our season high in FGAs is 86; in the game Skiles set the record, the Magic had 107 shots attempted.

Sidebar:  there was a play earlier in the game where Shaq caught an airball that Big Baby had heaved up to beat the 24 second clock.  To the naked eye, I could not discern if Shaq caught it before or after the buzzer. I was wondering if, in a scenario like that, there is a question about the timing, if the official scorer would go back and check.  Either way it was a 24 second violation, so it had no effect from the ref's perspective.  I've heard there's an awful lot of gray area with the stats.  Wondering if that's a situation where they would just give Shaq a rebound for the heck of it.
