Doc put Rondo back in after spraining his ankle in the December 15TH Knicks game. I am wondering if by doing so, it made his injury worse. Shouldn't they have kept him out for the rest of the game?

he shouldn't have played, no. if for no other reason than he played like crap after getting injured.

Yeah, probably. Maybe Rondo, Coach Rivers and the Celtics medical staff weren't sure how serious the injury was at the time. Let's hope that Rajon Rondo can fully recover from his injury. Rondo's speed with the ball may be compromised until he is back near 100%, however I doubt that a guy like Rondo would play 'scared' and be more reluctant to carry the ball into the paint. I mean, it's not like Waka Flocka Flame is waiting for him in there ;)

Honestly, I don't think it made a difference. He played like 9 minutes more. Would have taken him the same amount of time to recover, regardless.

  • You say when......
The mistake was before that....it was a mistake to let him keep playing after he hurt his hamstring.....the rest was just coming..! He certainly could have done even worse...we were lucky as it was..the hamstring can get VERY bad...fast..! Also, the other thing you do is wear on the other leg, to compensate for the weak one....!

I've tried to play after spraining an ankle a few times. It always seems like it takes longer to recover when I do that instead of just stopping and putting ice on immediately.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

I have to agree.

I was actually glad to see a minor ankle injury force him to sit and rest his hammy. He looked very hampered for a while there. Danny said as much in an interview on WEEI.

As long as the ankle is only minor, it is a blessing in disguise.

While he probably should have sat out a few games with the hamstring, I think that injury had zero to do with spraining his ankle.
