As a player, the guy overachieved for the most part - but the early days with the 76ers cemented his dislike for the Celtics forever!

Sir Charles would pick young guys over old guys. Its his right. Look how great it turned out in Portland with two young studs in Roy and Oden. O wait a minute...

     Barkley was one of the best players I've ever seen. Jordan,Magic,Bird,then probably Isiah,Barkley,Hakeem. The dude was INCREDIBLE. He STILL dogged it at times,moreso than the other guys I listed. The others never took a play off.Lebron played harder more often. Barkley also asked off the 76ers.
     I don't get as mad at Charles the way I used to because he has proven himself to be irrational in his bias against the Celtics.I love how he hates us but will never admit it. 

He actually has given the Celtics their due this year.  He laughs at LeBron now, basically dismissing him as someone who will go down as an all-time great.  Barkley also really likes Rondo, and big-ups him plenty.

Barkley is like one of "every guys" idiot friends, except he has a great job talking about sports, and yes, i know he was a very good player too.. I like him...as he is...which is a kookie, entertaining "Tell it like it is" type guy, who isn't really ever 1/2 the time right. But those guys have a GREAT show, with a perfect mix of experience, stats and personality, ect....

   But.....in the end, even if everyone in the world thinks the C's are the worst team........We'll be there in the playoffs, and if everyone is healthy, we really should take it all...!

   Also, i was watching the knicks vs orlando last night...the refs still are soooo bad, and the love howard.

Barkely is funny, in more ways then one. This team when healthy is not only the best team in the league it's one of the best the league has seen since the 80's C's/Lackers. It's very well constructed to dual the Lackers again in the Finals. My only concern is Miami. A team with two top level players like that does have the ability to throw together 3 or 4 unreal games in a row and that is all it takes.

It's much more likely though that our balanced squad plays at a very high level thougout the playoffs. If we are healthy, the title is ours.

well i generally like laughing at barkley and he is entertaining.. he just stated the celtics were the 4th best team in the east... he said even healthy they are 4th best!!!!! amazing... truly amazing

I don't underestimate Barkley as a player, he was one of the very best in the league.  Great rebounder and shot blocker and he really could score.  Top scorer on the Dream Team.  So I don't let this jackassery discount all that...

Now that being said, I'd be fine if he said not healthy but healthy we are absolutely the best.  That being said I learned to discard Barkley a while ago.

Funny debate over whether Chris Paul or Deron Williams was the best point guard in the league after Paul was hurt last season, and Chris Paul was on set, and Barkley was saying Deron was the best PG and Chris Paul was looking at him for the explanation and he said "You're good, he's just bigger" and he said that probably 3 or 4 times and everyone was looking at each other like "What?" but started laughing.

I think Barkley has a lack of respect for Celtics. I usually don't say stuff like that, but he's one guy who's consistently against the Celtics. Especially Pierce I bet if you asked Barkley he'd say he's overrated. Barkley's one guy I will never expect to be in our corner.

Orlando got lucky to beat beat us in the end when Bass got hot late in the 4th...

We also didn't have our starting PG or C in that game.....  We are no where near behind Orlando, I don't care if we lost to them on Christmas it didn't prove anything IMO.

I believe he has deep hatred for the C's.  He won't admit it of course.  It probably tore him up inside when they won the 'ship a couple of years ago.  Now Pierce, after all that talk from Barkley that he wasn't that good, now has a ring and he doesn't.   I know it's killing him. LOL

I was irritated by virtually every call going the magic's way near the end of the game when the Knicks cut it to three - which resulted in a couple of possessions extra for the Magic.
