So, CSN has created a monster here.  The C's put out a statement saying KG had a lower leg injury.  That was (mis)interpreted by the genius' on CSN as meaning it is not a knee or ankle.  Now, this has been picked up elsewhere.

Its amazing how a team can try to be vague in their statements, and words will just be put in their mouths...

This is where the conspiracy theories of the team lying come from.  They try to be vague, and when it gets misinterpreted, everyone forgets what the original statement actually was.

I'm pretty sure there was a second gun man in the mezzanine section tonight.

Where was David Stern?

On air, they just said "we're being told it's a muscle injury, and not the knee".

If that's what the Celtics are telling them, I think it's fair to report it.  On the other hand, if the Celtics are saying "lower leg injury", like they were earlier, I absolutely agree that it's stupid to speculate that it's a calf, rather than the knee or ankle.

I want to hear from Danny, even though the MRI isn't until tomorrow.

The diagnosis came from Ed Lacerte.  I would think it's easy to diagnose the difference between a calf injury and knee.

It's also eady to see he does it while jumping which means muscle.  Landing would be ligaments.  So the question is how serious.  The way he walked out i would say not to serious.

My guess and it's a little bit of prayer as well would be few weeks.

Yeah, I may have jumped the gun on this.  Although I still think CSN got lucky.  I think they ran with the story based on misunderstanding the original statement by the C's.  Then they got lucky that it actually was muscular.  That's my conspiracy theory anyways.

And yes, I just hate Tanguay.

All reports are saying just the calf.  Though he could still miss a lot of time with it....

I wouldn't expect it. Maybe you shut him down for a half-dozen games if you want to be conservative.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

doc said he isn't concerned and that he will miss a few games. good thing is rondo coming back helps and the next few games aren't tough (other than the spurs)

Still if he tore something would that need surgical repair? Sheesh hopefully not as he'd probably still be gone or not in top shape for the remainder of the year.

based on what happened before with KG, it's tough to believe what doc/danny or anyone have to say... but, the words "don't panic" from the guy on the plane are somewhat reassuring.  just hoping KG's inital reaction was more panic/overreaction than it was actual pain..

While it riles us up tremendously, ide MUCH have an over-reaction then a "cover up."

Please let this be the truth ...

How about people just wait until he gets some imaging done instead of making stuff up here off of sportscaster speculations?

This isn't Star Trek. They don't have a hand-held device you wave over the hurt area to get a diagnosis. KG's past injury showed that many fans do not understand how medicine works and how tough it is to evaluate injuries and predict healing.

Life is full of complexity and nuance. Having patience is all we can really do tonight until more data is collected.
