If players want to criticize refs and the league but avoid fines this is how

The buddy system.  Remember that from kindergarten?  Everybody get a buddy.

Basically if a player like....saaaayyyy....Lebron has a problem with something that happens in a game he should text it to .......Miami Dolphins WR Brandon Marshall.....who then tweets something like  "Did you see that game? Did you see the way blah blah happened?"


Or even "I have good friends on that team and they assure me that Dick Bavetta did such and such.  Of course it's Dick Bavetta. Who else."


Then when the No Fun League fines Brandon Marshall for something like being too happy during a celebration he should text Lebron who would make his complaint for him.


It the only way.   It's simple. Effective.  People would get it, but have a hard time pinning it down. 

Can you imagine certain athletes teaming up like Charles Barkley and Bryan Cox.   Oh the poetry those guys could create.

I think the last thing this world needs is more complaining by professional athletes, whether it is done personally, or through someone else. 

The NBA needs to fix their officiating, but that is not going to happen through players complaining.  That is just annoying.

Good point Chris, but there is a difference between players complaining and stating what we can all see or statistics.

For example if today a coach made the same point the Sacramento coaches were making back in their playoffs against the Lakers and were like "last game Shaq had 8 fouls called against him and tonight they had 25 called"  you'd get fined about $150,000. 

 Or when Allen Iverson was saying refs were targeting him....and they really were.

Of course the other thing the league could do to reduce complaining is to stop cheating and give us competent refs. That would be nice too

Weeellll coaches don't get paid to play.

I don't think just because they are players paid to play that means they have to leave their minds and sense of fairness at the door.  It's not the WWE.  It's not supposed to be a set up.

People aren't going to rationally react to refing ever, not when they care so much about the outcome of the game for their team.

I don't think the refing is all that terrible most nights, there are limits to the accuracy of officiating.
