That's exactly what I was thinking. Don't know who to cheer for - I hate both teams so much...

I want both teams to struggle. But I still want a Lakers vs. Celtics Finals.

I found the context for the quote:

http://nba.fanhouse.com/2010/12/24/ray-allens-call-to-aircraft-carrier-puts-christmas-day-debate-i/#cntnt

Quote
Ray Allen's Call to Aircraft Carrier Puts Christmas Day Debate in Perspective

While most of his teammates were loosening up, or taking shots Friday morning -- preparing for their Christmas Day game against the Orlando Magic -- guard Ray Allen was on the phone talking with soldiers on the USS Abraham Lincoln, the aircraft carrier sailing through waters in Southwest Asia.

His voice was being piped to an estimated 5,000 military men and women on the ship, smiling as he answered some of their questions, and offered them words of encouragement.

...

Someone on the aircraft carrier did ask him a question that made him laugh. They asked who he would be rooting for in the Lakers-Heat game being played after the Celtics-Magic game.

"I just said, 'Is it possible for both of them to lose?''' he said.

Ray really is a great guy.

  • Thank you Eddie!
Yep, gotta go with the meteor crashing into Staples.  If those two teams ever meet in the Finals at some point and I'm forced to root for one of these teams at gunpoint, I'd choose to just get shot.

Gotta be realistic. Pick a team? Go Lakers. Why?

1st, we have the same team as last year plus Shaq. Once healthy, we should dominate the Lakers. The Heat are on some winning streak high and they're fans and bandwagon hoppers think they're unstoppable.
Yes, the Heat has won most of their games by considerable margins, but, they haven't beat a serious contender. They played Dallas and lost. When they play LAL, they should lose by a considerable margin.

Heat can't be Boston, and Boston will beat LA in the finals.
Can't stop, Rondo!
