1) Rip Hamilton went off for 35 points, including 6-10 on 3s. He must really want out of there...

2) T-Mac appears to have played pretty well also, with 17, 7 and 7, as well as 3 steals.

Detroit's clearly going to be active at the trade deadline -- it'll be interesting to see where these two and Prince end up.

As someone pointed out yesterday, Rip could be a good fit with Anthony if he's insisting on more talent coming with him to NJ. Maybe DET would be interested in taking Harris considering Stuckey's really more of a 2.

How does Rip having a good night for his team show that he wants out? I think it shows that he is proving to Detroit that he still has stuff left in his tank after all the criticism he has been receiving. Plus he has said that he wants to stay and feels terrible that people have think  he has quit on them.

Rip Hamilton would be a very nice fit in Dallas.

I think he's still got a good bit left in his tank. One of those players who will have a fresh lease of life and improve his performance hugely on a new team.

If they really fall out of the playoff picture for good, wouldn't Tmac and one of their bad contracts be worth taking on?

TMac,Rip, and Wilcox for Nate,Quis,JO, and Avery?

West comes back to play the point. Hamilton takes on the majority of the bench minutes including time with the Ray or Pierce, depending on the match up. Tmac spreads the floor and Wilcox gives us a healthy banger for our front line

Can't stop, Rondo!

Here's one trade idea that could make sense:

melo, rip and stuckey to NJ, favors, murphy and change and picks to DEN, jr smith to CHI, and harris, brewer and veal to DET.

I propose a McGrady for Jermaine O'Neal trade.  Then release McGrady.

O'Neal quits on his team in non-contract years.  McGrady tanks for trades and quits on his team.  Perfect swap.

Putting a diva like McGrady on a 24-3 team??  For what reason?

I sometimes look at trades for Detroit to make, then I think... why am i bothering?  this team is terrible and will still be terrible no matter what trade they make.  Unfortunate but it's really true, this team will be bad for a while.

he's clearly the least valuable of the 3. but if he's putting up meaningful points and assists for cheap, it would hardly be shocking to see a team like dallas or new orleans take a flier on him for a couple of months.
