Sitting here thinking how much I love this guy and how happy I am that Danny signed him. Simply a case of the right guy at the right time for the right team. I LOVE SHAQ.

I agree with you, he's the perfect fit for this team and seems like a great contributor to the community around Boston as well.

I'll love him even more on Jan 30, 2011.

Can't wait to see him neutralize the towers from LA, working alongside a healthy KG.

We may even have Perk back by then. Imagine that - Perk/Shaq VS whatever LA has.

Scary. That is a LOT of beef there.

I've always liked Shaq ... there's just something about him ... an innate endearing quality that's difficult not to enjoy. The only time I disliked him was when he played for the Fakers, though that was more of a team thing, (and I was glad when he left). He's multi-talented, intelligent, philanthropic, family-oriented, self-confident but not arrogant, loves kids, and has a great sense of humor.

From the first rumor of the possibility of his coming to Boston I was excited, (along with my Buddy GreenFaith1819), and have always felt that he would be a perfect fit for the "team-first" concept at the heart of this club. I also felt that his talents were not being utilized correctly on the last two teams he was on, and that he had much more left in the tank than people were giving him credit for.

Great acquisition, great fit, great addition to the City of Boston, and an all-around great guy who will end his career dressed in green and with a couple of more rings on his large fingers. I actually didn't think there was a realistic possibility of his coming here, and now that it's happened, it's still a bit hard to believe, (as KG being a Celtic still is). I love the Big Guy, too ... and I think Red is smiling. ;)

Can anyone here imagine the pandemonium in June 2011 if we can bring home Banner 18, VS LA??

He will then be worthy to say:

"I have as many rings as Kobe. You can take that to the bank ;D".

Did you see what Kobe said about Derrick Rose?

A reporter asked him if he was "passing the torch" to Derrick Rose, after Rose had just torched the Lakers to pull out a win for the Bulls.

Kobe said "I ain't passin (crap)."

the reporter than asked "Will he need to come take it from you?"

Kobe then said "If he calls, I'll be sure to wait for 5 rings before I answer."

I thought that was kind of awesome.

Ha!

Kobe plays the villain perfectly.

Him (and LA) will be silenced in June, by The Green. If they aren't careful, they may be silenced by SA or DAL.

But PLEASE, KOBE - Don't deny Shaq the opportunity to beat LA in June. Please don't.

I hate Kobe more then I hate anybody else in this world.

But even I gotta admit...that is one of the few quotes I ever liked from him.

Yea, he said that during his conversation with President Obama. Quick witted..that guy Kobe.

Referring to his favorite team, the Chicago Bulls, upsetting the Lakers recently, President Obama told Kobe, “Derrick Rose may have your number.”

Kobe’s response: “If he calls that number, I’ll be sure to pick up after the fifth ring.”

Kobe is certainly one of the greatest, I'll admit - but I wonder if he ever thinks about how he got those first three rings......playing next to one of the most dominant players to ever play the game.

That is a great answer.

Regarding Shaq, he was pretty tacky with his Van Gundy comments when he left Miami.

Shaq has burned so many bridges on his way out of towns that he's now considered a serial arsonist.
