Knicks lose 3rd straight. This time to Cleveland. While I believe  that the Knicks will end the season with a winning record, their inflated record due to their easy SOS is being exposed.

This should shut up Knicks fans who complained that they were so low in Hollinger's power rankings due to their pathetic SOS.

DANT can't play 8 guys and expect Amare to put up 30/10 every game!

It's just not possible!

They're team will be gassed by AS break.

Has there ever been a coach [more] reluctant to play the bench than D'Antoni?

Remember how few guys he played in Phx? Same thing is happening in NY.

At least the Knicks are fun to watch, relevant again, and give some competition to the joke that is the Titanic division... Easy schedule or not they were .2 or .3 three seconds away from beating us.

And? Good teams lose to bad teams all the time in the regular season. Its hard to get up and give 100% for all 82 games along with injuries, travel problems and weird schedule quirks. It happens all the time.

Still not relevent enough to win or really contend for a championship and that is kind of the point.

D'Antoni is massively overrated as a coach. Yes, he has great offenses, but he runs his teams into the ground, and he plays no defense. NY is no different than Phoenix, just less talented (by a bit)...and just like his Suns teams, they'll make the postseason, but probably lose early. You cannot win a title with D'Antoni as your coach.

I really like how Amar'e is leading this team, though. I noticed that during his postgame interview after the CLE loss, the reporter asked him, "Seeing that you are here for another 5 yrs, the MIA Heat are the team you are going to have to get through to win a championship here."

Amar'e: "I think BOSTON is the ultimate team to get through right now."

I love his focus ;).

I imagine there have been plenty of guys less reluctant to play the bench than D'Antoni.

Ha!  It's like the Jets and the Patriots.  The NY team not only loses to the Boston team, but is demoralized and exposed along the way.

(Alright, I know, it's only three games.)

It took losing to the Cavs for Amare to realize that their lack of defense is part of why they lost to the Celtics,Heat and that defense is a key ingredient in winning. He is not alone in thinking a good offensive output will beat a good defensive effort most nights, because his coach lives under the same delusion.

Amare admits in his postgame presser they need to start playing better defense.I say they need to start playing some defense period.

Let's just hope he doesn't give Howard and the Magic any ideas.  Pretty soon there will be a run on defensive players.

They can win the title if both Melo and CP3 end up there; with or without D'Antoni.

If you add a bunch of talent to any team they might have a chance. If they do then we can reopen that discussion. As of now they are not contending imo.
