Ive Seen reports that the raptors are gettin ready to buyout pejas contract given he doesnt decide to go play overseas would you think he would be a good fit with this team??

I Personally think he would we could use him as a real back up 3 to give pierce some real rest and last time i check he is one of the ALL TIME Shooters in the world.. i think with all the injuries we have the c's needs to make this happen

what do yall think?

He is older than dirt and probably has lost a step or two. Been battling a knee injury lately and I think he is shot as a player.  14 seasons takes a toll on you.   Only way I would do if he was free and we could try him out and not lose the rights to Bradley or Harangody when we send him to DL.

My thoughts are the same as when this thread was first brought up and discussed last month... If we can sign him on some vet min/partial guaranteed contract, then why wouldnt we at least give him a look... He could be our 11th or 12th guy, come in if we need a few buckets and space the floor for a few minutes a game.

Thats really the only circumstance that I would pick him up.

He's probably better than Wafer but not good enough to replace Marquis.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Mike Finley's not available?
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

Surprised at the mocking here. I think he'd be a great idea to try for the veteran's minimum. We all know his shortcomings. He's older, can't play defense, and is a one-dimensional shooter.

Having said that, he's a 6'10 legitimate, 3-point shooter. The Celtics don't currently have a backup 3 with that kind of range. Marquis and Wafer are slashers and West is more of a PG/SG.

They should go ahead and cut Wafer or Harangody and try getting a backup shooter, which they need. Wafer plays behind West/Marquis and Harangody isn't looking like a NBA player.

Yes.

He will be the new version of Eddie House.

Can't defend any position well, but can come off the bench and hit a back breaking 3 pointer.

Useful 12th man at worst.

Trouble is, if he could still play they would want him? No.

Peja is better than Wafer and fits our long-term needs (the entire season/playoffs) better too.  In a vacuum he improves us.  The question is if we could get someone better for that spot instead.

Why?  Work out a buyout, save some money.  They are not looking to win this season.  He gives them nothing towards the future.

Gotta be the best option right now. I wouldn't cut Wafer yet. I'd rather it be Harangody. No matter how you look at it, Luke isn't going to get better. He hasn't shown any high bball IQ, he's just surrounded by sound NBA vets that make any "rah-tard" look good in green. Add Peja to a healthy bench unit and our starters could finally play under 35+ mpg

Rondo,Ray,Pierce,KG,Perk
Nate,West,Peja,BBD,Shaq/JO

Wafer/Quis and Bradley could then all fight over Scal minutes
Can't stop, Rondo!

I am not a fan of Wafer. He plays hard, makes a decent play here and there but mostly just makes me nervous when he's out there. 'Quis has been really solid and I think he's earned his PT this year.

If Shaq goes to the bench... he will NEED long range shooters in most of the other 4 spots. If we can get some1 with range, I say we do it but we shouldn't hop on any1, if Peja is best, get him... if not, some1 who is!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

I see what everybody is saying and yea he is gettin there in age but who isnt on this team but at the same time our bench is soo good that we dont need him to come in and do everything just give pierce some time to rest and shot some 3s thats it thats all soo why not...im pretty sure no matter what he wont get anything more then a vet min soo i dont see the harm in picking him up its a win-win....i wouldnt mind dropping harangody and sendin bradley to the dleague..and dependin on the matchup u can play either quis or peja..n not to mention with the moves orlando just made we needa fill our holes in the team
