correct me if i'm wrong but i don't think i saw rr sitting with the team last night.

don't want to make a big deal of it but i wonder if it has to do with a clash of wills with doc during the knicks game(third quarter doc in the huddle: "rondo, you want to join the team")?

I hope he, like KG, was unable to sit on the bench for an entire game with out his head exploding, but i can't picture rr in the locker room screaming at the tv.

Not sure if he was on the bench or not, but if he wasn't it really doesn't bother me.  He's on crutches if he wants to be at home resting while watching the game that is fine.  Now if he was out and about then we may have a reason to be mad.

In other news Delonte wasn’t originally on the bench, but came out at some point in the middle of the 1st quarter.

I don't know if Rondo was or wasn't there.   He may have been self-conscious about the crutches if he wasn't there.  But I also am beginning to think that something more is going on.  It seems to me that at this point, it's hard to miss the fact that players and coaches are consistently bending waaay over backwards to dismiss the notion that Rondo has any significance to the team beyond knowing the playbook better than Nate and Delonte, and being one more body that can be put out on the court to fill up minutes.  There is possibly resentment of the attention Rondo seems to be getting?  Maybe his attitude is grating on the team?  They almost seem to be happier playing with Nate.  

I like Rondo and I think he will be a great player in the NBA, but maybe Rondo's future is with another team ... I don't think the Big Three are interested in becoming the Big Four.

Its great to show support by being on the bench but its is a bigger priority for Rondo to rest. Like others have said, if hes in a boot or on crutches being on the bench is just more of a hassle and more tiring for him. Let him rest at home, lay on the couch or whatever, take a load off... I mean JO has been out for what 3 + weeks, and I have seen him on the bench maybe once? This is definitely a non issue for me.

What is this theorizing based upon? Really, I have no understanding of this interpretation of what is going on. Should I gather quotes from players and coaches praising Rondo? Should we look at game film and try and comprehend how players prefer playing with Nate to Rondo? Your conclusions seem shockingly far from reality and I am genuinely curious as to where they come from, because to me the exact opposite seams true.

Rondo not being on the bench is what I believe we would call a non-issue. The dude just can't win with some people. No matter what Rondo does there is something wrong with it. Opposite actions and reactions are both met with derision. Rondo is Rondo, Rondo is not who you want Rondo to be. But Rondo as Rondo seems to be working.

rr's girlfriend Ashley who is there every game, was in her seat again last night so i am assuming he was in the locker room.....maybe not....but a good assumption


 i thought it was interesting that wafer was on the bench...then played a couple minutes...then shortly thereafter left the bench.  was it because he was upset about lack of playing time even with all the injuries...or did he leave coincidentally when delonte came out to sit on the bench?  either way, i didnt see him come back the rest of the game (maybe he did and i didnt catch site of him but i dont think so unless he was sitting on the floor at the end of the bench....my seat is the first row behind the bench so i wouldnt be able to see him if he was on the floor)

I was at the game; Rondo, Shaq, Perk, and Jermaine were all not on the bench.  Delonte came out and sat on the bench sometime after the game started, don't remember exactly when.  I was wondering if it happened to coincide with when Wafer got hurt and went to the locker room!

I wouldn't read too much into it.  We've seen all of the injured players on the bench at some games and not at others.  And as others have said the team could have asked him to not come in due to the nature of the injury.

Rondo IS the future of the Celtics. The big 3 are in the twilight of their careers and Rondo is just barely entering his prime. One little in game spat with Doc and suddenly Rondo is the most hated Celtic on the team? It has been put on record many times in the past how the big 3 have enjoyed playing with Rondo. Hey, even Shaq complimented the guy a couple of games back, calling him "Fed Ex" for always "delivering" the ball at the right time. This whole 12 game winning streak seems to have bored a lot of guys here. I mean i'm seeing posts about PP being classless and Rondo being stubborn (to the point of being a team villain). I do respect that each of us has his own way of looking at things. It's just that sometimes little things are being overblown and over analyzed. JO has been absent from the bench for quite a number of games but that doesn't mean he doesn't care about the team. Relax guys, i think the team is fine. Just watch that first part of The Association. That should give you an idea of how "tight" this team is.

That's just silly.  The Ancient Three (plus Shaq) realize Rondo's the guy making them look young.  He's the last teammate they want to see go.

  If there would be any real problem in this post, it would be "I don't think the Big Three are interested in becoming the Big Four", which is the Big Three hurting the team with their attitude.

I agree get treatment and get better.  Rondo's competative nature would make it hard for him to ride the pine, I think.
