Good give him his rest.  I really want to see him against the Hornets because I am going to that game  ;D , but if he still needs the rest then I am fine with it.

  • Another undersized Celtic...
I've gone to 3 games so far this season, and I have yet to see Shaq, JO & Delonte play. No Rondo tonight either, but the ticket doesn't get any cheaper. Wow, I'm really whining now!

Honestly, this is GREAT NEWS. Now hear me out, i know that sounds a bit cruel, BUT rondo just doesnt know when to quit, and this sprain was a way of Doc havin a valid excuse for sittin rondo. Rondo needs to be saved from himself cus if its up to him, he'll play no matter what (just look at last night), never givin himself a chance to heal up. This is the chance he needed now lets see if he can finally come back healthy.

I wouldn't mind it all that much if we weren't already missing 4 of our 10 best players.

Nate in the starting lineup WITH Shaq will suffice, but when is he expected back, Sunday? Or will they hold him out until Wednesday and give him two full weeks off?

Hopefully we have Shaq and JO (remember him?) ready for the Christmas game against Orlando. Then hopefully Rondo comes back around the beginning of the year. Then West the middle of January, and finally Perk sometime in February.

Nice way to integrate them all and have them firing on all cylinders come April. Some light minutes for the Big Three in March would be a very nice luxury.

Time for some Avery Bradley sightings.

I'm not surprised to hear this, I figured Rondo would miss a week on his ankle turn from last night anyways.

He's clearly be banged up for a while now, and we need him to win it all.

Thank the Lord we actually have a legitimate backup point guard this season.  We can afford to lose Rondo for a few games (assuming the rest of the team is somewhat healthy) and not be doomed.

I agree that it is about darned time we saw Avery Bradley get some significant minutes.  Time to step up, kid.  15 minutes a game oughta do it.

Can we please get Bradley some REAL minutes now? Nothing to lose really

Games, we can lose games.

I'd love to see Bradley get some burn as much as anyone. But there is a reason he's glued to the bench at the moment.

Well, the alternative is burning out Nate by playing him 40 minutes a night, which is bad, or playing Marquis more as a ball handler, which is also bad, or playing Ray too much, which is really bad.

We spent a 1st rounder on the kid so we could have depth at PG.  Might as well take advantage of it.  As long as he can play decent defense (and by all accounts he can), he won't be a big liability out there or anything.

Rondo's young. The treatment here is rather simple.

First 24 hours... nothing but ice. This is the key rest period and if the swelling is arrested quickly, the healing time will be cut dramatically.

Then, for the subsequent 4 days... hot packs followed by ice treatments, rotate every hour for about 4-5 cycles.

Then, start slowly rotating the ankle and walk a little at a time. By the end of week number 2, he'll be back as new.

Well, right now, he provides depth at SG.  He's not a PG yet.  I think we'd definitely get to see him play if Ray Allen was out for two weeks.

I think the depletion of guards on the Hawks lessens this for tonite. They are already without Joe Johnson and now Crawford. That should help us some as long as no one gets into foul trouble.

I would love to see a few minutes for Bradley against the Hawks second unit guys, but not to the extent that it hurst our chance of winning. The kid got no training camp or preseason so he is likely still way behind and now not much practice time? He is a potential liability at this point.

Not really, the Celtics have Robinson/Ray/Pierce/Marquis/Wafer to play 3 slots in some combination.
