Great stuff here. Did a bunch of play and pause real fast and the video confirms that Pierce's shot was through the basket with .7 seconds left and not .4. Hey I will take it!!! And this is on MSG so it's whatever. Yet, if the boys at MSG were on their game Amare's shot likely counts.

Check it out. Keep pressing play and pause until you see the game clock is at .7 seconds and then see where the ball is.

Imagine how long a game would be if they meticulously did that after a close play.

but this is all fantasy.  If there were .7 seconds on the clock our defense most likely would have been a different call.   Instead of having someone on the ball we probably would have dropped a guy back to play centerfield.  The players knew no one could catch turn and shoot, the ball thrown to stoudemire would have been contested more.....and so on and so forth.

All this arguing about the time on pierce's shot is baloney.  The knicks knew how much time they had and did not produce a play to make themselves succesful (I.e. A tip in near the basket) and that wis because the celtics compacted the lane to prevent it figuring no one can turn and shoot the ball in .4 seconds.

this just makes up for the 10 seconds that anthony parker had to shoot with less than 1 on the shot clock at cleveland

Eh, thats just reaction time stuff.  It happens all the time (we had this discussion a few weeks ago when the C's got screwed by it).

defense would have been different with .7

No way they let anyone get that clean of a look from the perimeter

Exactly this .. TP
Stay classy, San Diego. Hello, Baxter? Baxter, is that you? Bark twice if you're in Milwaukee. Is this Wilt Chamberlain? Have the decency to say something.

Wow.  I can't believe that the media is making such a huge deal about this game.  It wasn't a playoff game.  It was one game out of 82.  You can find dozens and dozens of games throughout the season that have shots near the end of quarters/games that don't stop the clock at the exact instant the ball goes through the rim.
