I loved it. Absolutely loved it.

It wasn't classless, it was theatrics. Where better to take a bow than NYC after stomping their little December dreams of a big win?

There are usually a dozen more classless plays per game than what he did after the game. How about Amar'e staring down Ray Allen after blocking his shot and knocking him to the ground?

I live in NYC, and today nobody seemed to have any problems with how he acted, just the shot itself. They eat it up. The Knicks are just happy to be in the news.

I"m sorry but this post is pretty lame. How about, you do you, and let PP do him? I mean, come on. How could you even be a fan of this TEAM with that attitude?? god, you must drive yourself crazy every time Robinson puts in a bucket and gets hyped!  How could you ever watch KG and be a fan? Get outta here this isnt golf.

Where does Jordan's celebration when he hit the shot over Ehlo rank on the classiness meter? (or is that okay since it's playoffs?)

And talking about Celtics tradition, come on now, we all know that one of the pillars of Celtics tradition is this  ;D

Knicks better be more concerned with those the two 747's coming into MSG.Pierce was only a byplane compared to what Lebron&Wade will be flying up/down with come friday night.

Too soon to be talking about 747's coming into a building in New York?

I'm just glad that Captain Crunch seems to having fun out there. This whole team is this year, vice last year - like a few posters here have mentioned already.

Shaq and JO are sitting back, and last night's game was a true classic IMO. Ray, KG and Rondo gave wonderful performances in support of Paul, in spite of a charged up Knicks crowd, in spite of Amar'e being on perhaps the best run of his career.

Amar'e does have flaws in his game, but he is definitely playing at an MVP clip right now, IMO.

I'm glad The Green overcame his and the Knicks performance. Captain Crunch deserved his plane flight around the court. He's been fighting through a rough patch of shooting, and he came up big when we needed it.

Semih played well, too - for a 5th or 6th Big, in his 1st full NBA year. That guy has a future in this league. Amar'e toasted him, but without Semih's contribution, however minimal it was - we lose this one.

But Yes! Thanks Captain - for a Classic (and classy) Game! My 12 year-old and I loved this one.

Maybe people likened Pierce's gesture to the planes crashing on the WTC?
Still, that isn't classless, that's just excitement and, well, relief, because we really had a tough game yesterday..
It's called SWAGGER! and right now, our Celtics has a lot of it and they deserve to celebrate all they want after winning a game because they work hard for it!

i don't like it either, never have liked it - Celtics don't act like that !!

paul pierce has always had that LA street mentality inside and though KG & Ray have forced Pierce to mature some, he will always have that street dog in him - which is why he says things he shouldn't and pulls stupid stunts on the court like last nite.

don't think you'd ever see, Bird, Havlicek, Cowens or Russell or KG for that matter pull any of Pierce's antics.

Buhahaha celtics don't act like that, the entire 1980's disagrees

I would have a headache if I read all the post, so if some1 said it, SORRY!

When Amare hit the 3 (if his teammates didn't hug him to stop his running)... he started doing much of the excessive celebrating that PP did... same for that game winner by Jordan. A LOT of players who hit game winners or do something great overly express themselves... the only thing that stops their running... pile-on by teammates!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Evidently New York was chanting "you got stabbed" during the game, so I think Pierce is allowed a little gloating.
